In Gauteng, car number plates have got to Y already, does anyone know what they are going to be doing about this? only Zeeee left!

I would have thought after the T reg they would have made a plan, but noooooo same problem!!!

They could have added a letter and a number to make it 4 letters and even 4 numbers...

Wasn't there something about new license plates? I saw a few plates that had 3 numbers and then 3 letters, and they didn't look custom to me. But I really have no idea. My plate is a W.

As far as I know 1/2 custom number plates are numbers then letters, then you can get a fully personalized plate of up to 7 characters. But it looks like we gonna have to fork out for a new one soon....

The current number plates are XCV 235 GP ... so the next step would be :drum roll:

235 XCV GP

that gives us about another 5 years before they have to look at recycling old numbers.

From an article I read many a moon ago.
They were going to introduce the plates with colour coding as well.\So trucks have one colour, cars another, bikes another etc...
It will also app have some form of barcode or the like on it.

Man If I could just recall where I read that.

Yup in Jozi the letter at the start changes each year, you can pretty much tell what year model a car is by it's plate.

@ Nitty:

Dear Mother of Nitty

Your child is severely lacking in even the most basic social skills. It is with the deepest regret that we inform you that we recommend she be sent back to the womb so she can start her life over, and hopefully grasp the concept of what the word "précis" means for the advancement of her social ambitions.
