Read IGN's E3 interview (http://pc.ign.com/articles/705/705757p1.html) with EA staff on the ressurection of the game.
Snippet(s) :
The First Tiberium War between the Global Defense Initiative (GDI) and the Brotherhood of NOD (NOD), was a furious conflict fought on multiple continents. The GDI was sort of like NATO - a collection of first world countries with combined military forces. NOD was a strange hybrid of terrorist organization and nation state, a high-tech cult with a religion built around Tiberium, led by a charismatic psychopath named Kane. NOD had a modern military infrastructure and recruited soldiers from the third world. Kane manipulated global public opinion against GDI. Tanks, aircraft, and infantry from both sides clashed on the battlefields of the future, the already rapid pace of warfare accelerated by exotic new weapons based on particle beams, and Tiberium technology.
GDI battled NOD to a standstill at the end of the first game. Command & Conquer Tiberian Sun was the next chapter - and told the story of the second Tiberium War that erupted between GDI and a resurgent NOD.
It turns out the pessimists were right. Kane is back - and he's been busy building up NOD while GDI grew complacent. The Brotherhood launches a massive surprise attack on GDI that begins with the destruction of GDI's orbital military command center. NOD strikes while all of the GDI leaders are on board the space station Philadelphia for a conference on the containment of Tiberium. The Philadelphia and the entire political and military leadership of GDI are vaporized, reduced to a cloud of radioactive dust by a nuclear missile.
Kane has been a bad boy. :whip:
The screenies are quite hot. Will we get Tanya again to raise havok behind enemy lines with C4?

bummer... cant we import her into this game too?
rainy
10th May 2006, 09:50 AM
Maybe they should make a game called C&C - Generation Clash. There Tanya and them can meet up Havoc and the GDI, while Kane and Slavik join forces with Yuri and his minions... ;)

Step right up, step right up. You, yes you, get to choose something about Tanya! Continue as if from above... And choose... Your destiny! (or Tanya's, it don't matter)
Option A:
Like a woman!
Option ii
Um.. Ugly?
Option 3
Like Barbie as an Air Hostess!

Wasnt she in the original C&C aswell?
Back to topic I will definately be buying this game, C&C games are the best I had them all, but then I threw away the ones that dont work on XP, dammit! Anybody know where I can get Red ALert 1? its got to be my all time favourite game, its what got me into PC gaming.

K well got the demo, very impressed with first impressions! Certainly feels a lot more Command & Conquer than Generals did. Graphics are very good, runs smooth as silk @ ultra high @ 1280 * 1024 which is a relief cause i was expecting to have to get a dx10 card to play it. Demo includes 1 skirmish battle & 1 normal GDI campaign.
Kane is back :D

Sounds good. Might actually buy the game blind.

In the demo you CAN actually play as NOD :
Just go to the race select bit, put your cursor over NOD and then hit 'N' on your keyboard. Then left click and it'll switch to NOD. You can use the same method with 'G' to switch the AI to GDI." This would be for skirmish mode, of course.
Thus far its more of the same as its original predecessors, which is both a good and bad thing. Lets say C&C 3 is a simplistic RTS while Supreme Commander is the RTS Simulator on a much larger scale. Both are good games but for the crowd with little time to play they would enjoy C&C 3 more.

Tested the demo, runs fine on my PC and looks like lots of fun. I already like it a lot more than Generals. The video sequences are a bit amateurish, but kudos to Westwood for putting them in - keeps the C&C spirit going.

I've played with greg/bambi over hamachi and its pretty sweet...
Oh, and we need a cool little icon like the 2 or the 2142 or the GW icon but as GDI or NOD (or Scrin :D)

Prognosis: Very doubtful.
I absolutely completely suck at RTS, so I usually give them a miss.
