I think this is incredibly interesting.
Can you imagine browsing/searching by 2020?
Our kids are going to think us old fashioned when we use Google, or still need a PC to get the most out of the web.
"Dad, a laptop? seriously? that is, like, sooooo 2012"
And we will just feel old...
((Gosh, i hope i have a kid by then :P ))

Brooding Blinky must start bonking. :ras:
But I know what you're saying, I'm not getting any younger either.
The application is okay, I am just a little confused as to how they make money from it.

You must look at the ARToolkit.
They got a version that runs on the iPhone.
(Free to download for anyone who wants to dev apps for)
Coupled now with the iPhone 3GS's new compass, we will be seeing augmented reality apps on the iPhone soon. (plus the 3GS's speed boost will help a lot)

Well lets face it AR is a little boring if you attached to the desktop.
Where it shines is in a mobile environment. Hassle is you need a monster processor for it to be fluid.
