I do. And still planning to get some more.

What do you guys prefer consoles for? They are great for sports, racing, fighting and adventure games.

Spill you beans soldiers! :p

Nope, I see consoles as the death of Pc Gaming. They want to give us these dedicated little boxes that do it all for us and take away our individuality and the skills to build up a PC. It's also about the money, I dont have a console But I,ve checked out the games for Ps2 .. a little bit more moola than the PC counterpart. Another thing may or may not be your thing but ever seen a DVD writer for a console? I aint yet.

This is right up there with my theory about America's Army. :D

If they stop making games for Pc and they only make games for console I wont be playing games no more.

you have quite an opinion. for me consoles are more entertaining when you got visitors at home and for the money you pay you do get more bang for the buck than a PC at times.

still, every gaming platform has its pro's and cons... and i try to choose all the pro's in console gaming when i can. ;)

and in the aspect of consoles being the bane of PC gaming, with the next gen consoles coming out already i see a crop of titles being made for both platforms which will make it a win-win situation for us in the end.

Me got a PS1. Use it to play Tekken3 on it when all the frinds/couzins rock up and they gets bored.
Of course - I am the champ - well ... for the first 5 games at least.

Woohoo, go PS1!!

I hauled my out for some nostalgia recently, My Wife kicked my ass in WWF Smackdown last night :p .

I like consoles for the social aspect, they fullfill a different purpose to PC's. PC's are awesome for individual complex emersive games (and wasting you money on hardware) Where consoles are great for a quick Race or Fight etc.

Only Console I'm really interested in at the Moment is the Revolution, but that looks like it's going to be almost a years wait!

Yea - you're right about the social aspect. It can be a real mood lifter if you handle it right.
Ever seen 2 grannies play Tekken against each other - it's a LAUGH of note !

I guess that's the one downside of Consoles: Telly Time :(

I guess it does help not having DSTV.

I don't own a console, and I don't plan on getting one. Rather upgrade my PC a bit when there's a bit more money :)

I've been toying with the idea of a moderatly spec'd MCE PC for the lounge, but it's still a bit prohibitive cost wise if you want one of the new Mini PC form Factors.

The idea of playing BF2 on a 72cm HDTV is very appealling!

Do yourself a favour - get a Tivo. I got myself one. It's the best thing since sliced bread - and it wasn't expensive. All in all, cost me about R1800.
