Greetings Soldiers:
We at DICE and EA are aware of the concern surrounding the coming change to squad selection. We would like to take a moment to ease the feelings of tension related to this change.
Our goal is to refocus game play on team work, squad coordination and to also remove the spawning exploit used by some. In BF2 we introduced tools that would allow players to support one another as they battle for control points. To further enhance this aspect of game play squads were introduced to give players even more tools to coordinate their efforts and support each other.
Allowing squad mates to spawn on the squad leader was intended to provide an easy way for squads to stay together during chaotic battles. Unfortunately squad leaders have been used by some to launch team wide attacks on remote parts of maps with little thought to actual team unity beyond these maneuvers.
We believe this change will refocus the game play on team work and add more value to the roles of Squad Lead and Commander.

I can't argue with that. But then again I tend to be a little slow on exploiting the exploits.
But - if I was given a choice of getting rid of lag or stopping people return to life across the world - I'd go with removing lag every time.

If dead, you can't join a squad and respawn on leader - you must spawn elsewhere 1st...

Prolly, yeah..
I dunno if it's good or bad. I do on occasion use it (ie, stuck in the middle of nowhere etc)
but yeah, I dunno....

YAY, now finally maybe people will wrok in squads more, and have mixed squads that included balance, and miedics, ect

I don't think that is right. From what I read, and interpreted, it means you can spawn on the squad leader if you die, BUT, if the squad leader dies, he can't leave, and come back as a normal grunt, and have someone else become squad leader, like we tend to do, when SL dies.
This means SL is going to have to be more careful, when attacking, cos, if he dies, the whole squad is back to one of the normal spawn points.
I think. I might of read it wrong, so don't turn my blurb into gospel.

- You can spawn on him any time.
- If he dies you can spawn on him when he's alive.
BUT ... When a squaddie is made Team Leader, then:
- you cannot spawn on him until he dies once.
So ... TK your squad leader :p.

But then where is he going to spawn?
Please don't let this flaw in logic stop you from exercising your clan given right to TK though.

What if hill/mosque are not in that specific map?? Then where is he going to respawn?? This could reallt be a BIG problem ... :rofl:
You know... I guess I'll find all these new changes out "in-game" when I do something and then have 5 voices coming at me over voip...going...what the heck are you doing NUT!!!???!!! :p

i think the whole ide here is that if you die and your squad leader is wonder around no where near where you want to be and you leave the squad to join another with a better spawn point then you have to first spwan at a flag before you can spawn on SL again or if you are a SL and you die leave the squad and rejoin you again have to spawn on a flag first before being able to to spawn on the new SL
