Just a note to anyone that has to have repairs to their cars .. avoid Lyndhurst auto.

I had the pleasure of a taxi rear-ending me a few weeks ago ( no ... not that kind :D), minor damage should have taken 1 week to fix. Long story short .. 5 weeks later and I've been there 6 times to pick up my car and rejected it every time due to their shoddy workmanship. They've had to repaint the bumper 3 times already

Franchise ... new owners and location from about a year ago. Prior to that I had 2 repairs done on my old car with no problems. Thay've just hired a new QA manager so hopefully things will improve, but carp at the mo'.

Quite franky, I won't even buy a car from a dealer up that end, never mind getting it serviced/repaired. I bought a bakkie up there a few years back & was just half through JHB on a Friday afternoon on my way back to East London when I stopped because I noticed the steering shaking at 120km/h. Turns out the bearings were shot - instead of turning around like I should have I thought I'd leg it to East London & report it when I got back, seeing as I'd taken the extended 3 year warranty when I bought the vehicle. You guys all know JHB traffic on a Friday afternoon...

Legalwise didn't help either after the dealership tried to blame it on me. I landed up paying to have it fixed myself.

And because of your one-off experience, all car dealerships in JHB are bad?

Damn right :) It's a long way to go to take out the fool that robbed you.

:hmmm: that's no good Sabre, sorry to hear about your misfortune with them! I bought my last 3 cars from them, always good service, but like you say, new management! Is the panel shop separate from the new car dealer?
