Here are some riddles for ya. Will post more as I find them.

1. A ship lies in port. On the side of the ship hangs a jabob's ladder. The ladder's steps are 30cm apart. On the ladder is a sailor painting the side of the ship. When the tide comes, the water level in the harbor rises by 1.8 metres. How many steps must the sailor climb up to not get wet feet?

Solution

None. The ship drifts up with the water.

2. An object that duplicates once each minute, thus doubling its volume, is put into an empty bottle at 6am. At 7am the bottle is full. At what time was the bottle half full?

Solution

The bottle is half full at one minute before 7am.

Here's another one:

There are 20 people in an empty, square room. Each person has full sight of the entire room and everyone in it without turning his head or body, or moving in any way (other than the eyes). Where can you place an apple so that all but one person can see it?

Don't cheat!

Place the apple on one person's head.

Another easy one ..

Lay out matchsticks to make the following equation:

55 = 555

Is it possible to make the equation true by adding just one match ?

Nope ... just add one. :)

The logical approach would be:

Place the additional match over the equals sign so that it says

55 does not equal 555

Liked this one as well:

A man was found murdered on Sunday morning. His wife immediately called the police. The police questioned the wife and staff and got these alibis:
The Wife said she was sleeping.
The Cook was cooking breakfast.
The Gardener was picking vegetables.
The Maid was getting the mail.
The Butler was cleaning the closet.

The police instantly arrested the murderer. Who did they arrest?
