When online whisper one of the members and they'll tell you if an officer is online. Ask for an invite from one of them.

@RB - yeah and my AH slave is called dougthehead, a money grabbing bald midget, much like in Snatch, one of the greatest films of all time. I wanted to name my pally Turkish but naming conventions frown on that :D

you can practice some healing on some of us in a few normal instances. When you feel the man we drag you to heal a heroic. Sommer toc NORMAL. ;-) lol

Try going to www.axxess.co.za and subscribe for an unshaped account (or a semi shaped account)
It's a bit more expensive, but i can tell you that my latency dropped from an average of 800-1000ms to UNDER 300ms.

In quiet areas in azeroth, you can actually get that bad boy down to 200 on the nose.
else, Punky might have other suggestions.

I used a program called registry tweak, google it. It brought my ping down nicely but I was still around 400. Then i invested in a 4mb line, an unshaped account and now my futures so bright, i gotta wear shades. :D

I'm running unshaped account and standard is was doing around 600 ms

There is a wow thread somewhere where you add a reg entry on your network cark
Tcpack something or another , brought my ping down to 230 ms atm.

try and google improve latency for wow. was one of the first hits google had for me

Hi Again Guys, I wrote the extra script into my Registery and it dropped my latency down from 680 to 400. Thanks.

My next issue is that I want to play on a realm with a larger group of South African's. I researched and this seems to be the right place. I am a level 80 lock on Shattered Halls. Our server is dead and I want to migrate. Our Guild is on Hardmode Uldar at present. is there space for me in your Guild?

Hey Runtius. Our guild is a very small group of players at the moment and we are looking to grow however; we are definitely not a experienced raiding guild. Ulduar 10 man is our current upcoming point of focus (we have a number of new 80's in the guild who are being guided by some awesome old hands) :) We are a mostly social group of people who despite a true enjoyment of the raids are just as likely to spend our time chasing arbitrary achievements or looking for kak with the horde.

Knowing this if you are still interested then we can discuss things further as we are a tightly knit group of friends so we like to get to know a little about someone before we invite them into our guild; Im sure you understand, as you've said yourself you would like to hang out with fellow South Africans.

Runtius, I'm (predikant) the guild leader of The Karazhan Chess Club and i am just going to repeat everything Hoss said - we are in it for the fun, we play the WoW we love (IE achievements, maybe some raiding, some leveling, some RP-ing and DEFINITELY annoying some hordies) so i would hate for you to move a char with any kind of expectation.

There is another South African guild on Scarshield, named Ire Infernus - they are our very good friends and a lot of us know a lot of them personally - THEY are the hardcore raiders and achievement whores (well, i lable myself as an achievement whore as well :D :p) And they are always keen to give a new member a trial to see if they can cut the mustard - not only on WoW, but socially as well, as we spend most of our time on team speak, and we are all a bunch of foul mouther bliksems.

If you are active on this website, make conversation and let us get to know you, i am happy to give you a few weeks to play with us to test the water - you won't move your character in vane, as i mentioned, Ire might be your speed, so i'm sure we can find you a home somewhere.

I hope that helps, but more importantly, i hope it all works out for you, it's important to enjoy the game you're playing.

Just remember one thing, we are all friends here and we put friends before the game (well, in most cases, if a artifact drops, it'll be the true test of friendship :rofl: )

Hi Guys, I know this is probablly the wrong place for this post but I am a newcommer here and I will learn. Me and a few friends are level 80 toons on the Shattered halls EU server but are really struggling with LAG. Due to this the EU players don't really like us in raids so we are looking for a new home where many of the players are in South Africa.

Researching I found this to be the case on your server. I just have some questions:

Lag obviously affects DPS badly, how do u manage high end raids if ALL the players have bad SA LAG?

What is the best ISP in gauteng. Axxess was good but now they suck.

We are progressing through Uldar hard mode and Toc 25. Where are u guys now>

I would really like to hear from U.

Before you transfer to SSL, I think you need a bit more info about the WrG guild.

1st off, "WrG" is a gaming clan, we use our clan tags in various games across various platforms, so not everyone on here plays wow.

According to http://www.wowgamers.co.za/ we were the biggest SA guild and in the top 10 guilds on the server as far as gearscore and progress was concerned - at one stage we were even leading the gearscore race as per warcrafter.net's stats.

Anyway - not to expose too much dirty laundry, the WrG guild disbanded and
some joined Ire Infernus* (spelling) and others joined up where they saw fit. There are however some who figured it best to reform under a new name (Karazhan Chess Club - catchy eh? and oldskool!) who play the game on a purely social level now.

If you're into that - awesome! You'll be surrounded by the coolest flies in town. I just don't think it would be fair on you (or them) for you to be under the impression that we're still the top guild that we used to be - if you take your raiding seriously that is.

Why don't you create a DK on SSL and join the guild to test the water to see if you dig the okes before migrating?

Anyway, glad you popped in to say howzit...hopefully you'll enjoy the lads and lassie's company.

If you're keen on hardcore raiding with SA guys though, give http://www.wowgamers.co.za/ a looksee, it lists most of the the people and where they play.

Thanks for your reply Voicy. Let me tell you my main problem now. I am in a great guild on Shattered Halls but they are ALL european based players. Their latency is around 30ms on average. Becuase I am in South Africa and play with latency of now 430ms I am always at the bottom of the DPS list even though I am better geared than som of them. This makes my game experience very unrewarding if that is the right term.

I figured that if I could play in a Guild of South African's then I would be on a more even footing with respect to my fellow guildees as we will all probably struggle from some degree of latency. That is my main reason for wanting to move.

I would really appreciate some comments on the above. When you guys have european guildees is their DPS higher due to lower latency?

can I also ask, you guys are on a RP realm. Does this mean you can't attack Horde and they can't attack you?

How serious is the "Fantasy world" or is it just good ole WoW?

Last of all, becuase the Guilds are very SA loaded, possibly all with more latency than the European Guilds, is it not much harder to progress and kill Bosses?

Sorry about all the questions and I seriously appreciate the time any of you take to answer them.

...oh we do love attacking the horde, dont you worry about that. RP yeah sure whatever that is, its there, only if you go looking for it :D

Latency is a pain but I doubt it makes things too difficult. I'm not an authority on the higher level raids so it might affect you there; but then again it affects the other players to so...

BTW Im the warlock you were chatting to, so I think we covered the bases on other points you were asking about.

And as I said we are always open to considering new members if we can "date" for a couple weeks and find each other agreeable, but do consider our Ire Infernus friends to, as they are the serious raiders

Jono, we did a pug in vault of Archeavon last night, the 25 man.
Well, we had to 24 man it, because we couldn't find another player.
And BAM FOUR Warrior pieces drop, the PvE ones...

We had to destroy them, because there were no warriors in the group, and you can't Disenchant those drops...

I expect you to keep your membership list up to date so I know who am chatting to (thereby avoiding pointless conversations with noobs like Voicy) AND

I expect you to be online so that I get to choose with whom I would like to chat and not end up with a choice of 1(one) toon online. You should all be online waiting for my imminent return so that I can get that warm fuzzy feeling that comes from entering one's domus, yelling "HELLO" and getting a chorus of hellos in return, instead of the hollow echo of ones own voice.

Voicy the rogue was invited by the GryphonHammers within 5 minutes of logging for the first time since July. The lads there are rather keen on joining KCC on casual raids and so on, so I'll try liaise now and then.
