After the beautiful way they ended off Season 8, it looked like Scrubs was finished for good. Unfortunately (or fortunately) the networks renewed it.
The first two episodes of Season 9 are out.
The first episode is titled - Our first day of school - which is breaking the norm of having the titles start with "My..."
Brief summary:
The old Sacred Heart has been torn down, and the hospital has now moved to a new building on a university campus. It is now a teaching hospital.
Scrubs now has a sub-title: [Med School]
It starts off with a brief scene with JD kissing the pregnant belly of Mrs John Dorian, the neurotic Elliot Reed. After this scene, she does not appear in the first or second episodes.
Also missing are Carla (no explanation), the Janitor (brief flashback), and Ted (no explanation).
It starts off normally enough with commentary from JD, but then focus shifts to a new med student. The focus shifts from time to time between her and JD in the first two episodes.
I'm still undecided if I like it. I'm not sure if I'll ever consider this new season as part of the original Scrubs. I'll give it a chance though.
