The Icecrown Citadel: The Frozen Halls will be a new five man dungeon where the Lich King will be battled for a first time.

It's quite a weird idea to see the Lich King as a boss in a five man dungeon because Blizzard normally keeps the good stuff for the 25 man and previously 40 man raids.

Many people state however that the Lich King, the final boss in The Frozen Halls, will retreat from the battle once he is almost dead towards his other fortification where you do have to get a 10 man or 25 man raid together in order to battle and finally defeat him for real.

The great thing about this instance will be that you will be guided by Sylvanas Windrunner as Horde players and by Jaina Proudmoore if you are playing Alliance.

They will help you in all the confrontations. The instance itself will be split into several wings and it will work like Naxxramas. You will have to clear all the wings in order to proceed to the last bosses, including the Lich King.

The instance will of course be available on both normal and heroic mode and all the bosses will drop epic loot.

The Forge of Souls will be the first wing that has to be taken. Wicked engines and fierce bosses will await you in the first wing.

Led by one of the previously mentioned heroes you will have to take these out to proceed towards the Pit of Saron.

Here the players will have to free allies before killing the main boss; Scourgelord Tyrannus. The Halls of Reflection will be the final stop in this instance.

After fighting to the previous two areas you will have to deal with two bosses. The Lich Kings best commanders Marwyn and Falric that served the Lich King a long time ago will have to be killed before finally reaching the Lich King himself.

It makes sense that Arthas will flee the battle at a certain percentage of health and retreats to another part of the Icecrown Citadel where you will have to search for him in a 10 or 25 man raid with again plenty of other bosses etc.

Oh Goody goody goody! To be honest I cant wait.

MMO champion now has the release date as 08 Dec 2009(For what its worth) :yeehaw:

I really hope that the Frozen halls are nice and cinematic- with an epic storyline that progresses the whole WoW lore.

If not then then the new loot is cool too
