I understand quite a few folk are using Firefox, but I have come across 2 sites that show Chrome is better, here is one: http://www.dailytech.com/article.aspx?newsid=17218, the other was a mybroadband article, I'm just too lazy to go hunt for it :P
So what would u guys recommend?

I liked chrome, but it gave me issues with resolution & duel screens etc.
Firefox gets the job done - so I'm not very phased about anything else...

I am running Firefox & Chrome....IE is relegated to the trash heap.
I prefer Firefox for now because of all the absolutely essential addons that make my browsing so much more pleasurable.
It might change as Chrome matures.

I used Chrome for about 4 months untile I switched back to firefox. Chrome starts up quicker and sometimes loads pages slightly quicker but it doesnt have the support or the firefox addons. I cant go without my addons these days and so firefox still is the clear winner for me.

It works on any Cooliris enabled site, AND you can use it to browse any images on your PC, which is pretty nifty...

I am a convinced Firefox user. I don't give a toss on browser benchmarks since even seconds don't make much of a difference in your daily usage pattern. And whoever brags that their browser passes the ACID test has got too much freaking time on their hands.
Firefox is stable, has got tons of add-ons and gets the job done.

I love Firefox, but I have lots of issues with Intranet sites that require authentication - pops up the user login message ALL the time, and when your password is the maximum length password possible in Windows, with lots of funky numbers, letters and symbols, it's a major hack! So I use *spit* IE.
Chrome was pretty much totally useless to me at work as the network settings for Proxy etc. seem to be seriously dodge..

Yea FF rocks and as far as stability goes it kicks IE in the panty, even if it does fail at least you can get back to where you were with no problems.
Firefox.. :borat:

OK so second part of the quiz, what firefox add-on's would you recommend?

biggest one would be adblock plus. Its an abosulte winner in terms of not allowing all the annoying advertising you see on some websites.
I use videodownloader and the one that minimises it to the system tray too.
I also like one called new tab jumpstart which gives you the same startpage that Chrome has with your recent websites on it.

As a dedicated Microsofty I use ... All three ... :)
I use Firefox on my home desktop because it's been on there for years. I have nothing against it, it just feels like it's falling behind a bit.
I use ie8 on my workstation, I like quite a few of the features, accelerators and custom search engines, deleted tabs etc, but it's a memory hog. With 4Gb it's fine, but I ran it on my netbook for the last month and it struggles with 4 or more tabs, heaven forbid there's flash, so ....
I installed Chrome today, I've run it on and off for a while on my other machines and it's humming, so far so good. Responsive, lots of tabs, no freezing. I like it's neat simplicity.
The only plugin I depend on is XMarks and it's available for all 3 so I'm happy.

Well, i've been using chrome intermittently for the past year, and it's light and fast, and i love that fact that only one tab crashes not the entire browser. But it just does not have that firefox functionality.
To be honest, for the layman, IE 8+ isn't kak either, i mean, if you don't know any better, it's basically just a fatter and more sluggish version of chrome (remember, i said, to the layman!)
I would love it if FF was more stable, it does crash on me, and it *IS* annoying, but not annoying enough to stop using it, and it MORE than makes up for it in other respects, like addons.
Anyway, thought i would also have a little pee in the pot - i have never tried opera or safari, so i can't comment on those.

Hm. FF rarely crashes on me. I actually can't think of any occasions in the last year that it has crashed.

Yeah, thinking back, i can't seem to recall FF crashing on me either in the past year...

I'm going to need to see more pictures of them socks, would help if the model (female, preferably) wear nothing BUT the socks, so i am not distracted...

I have tried Safari and Opera. Safari was quite nice but was terrible for handling multiple logins and stuff and eventually just annoyed me. Opera is only good when its opera mobile on your phone :p
