To keep you in Oculus:

Quote from: Zarhym

To encourage players not to shy away from the many invigorating adventures to be had in The Oculus, we have applied a change to enhance the rewards players are provided when selected for this dungeon via the Random Heroic option in the Dungeon Finder. Once Ley-Guardian Eregos is defeated, one loot bag per character will be provided in his chest in addition to the current rewards. Each loot bag will offer players rare gems, two additional Emblems of Triumph, and a chance of being rewarded the Reins of the Blue Drake. These fine treasures could be yours should you honor your fellow party members by besting the challenges contained within The Oculus! Keep in mind, however, that these extra loot bags will only be awarded to each party member if Oculus is selected by the Dungeon Finder when players choose the Random Heroic option.

In light of this change, the Reins of the Azure Drake will now have a chance of dropping in both 10- and 25-player versions of The Eye of Eternity.

This change is being made via a hotfix. If it’s not yet live, it should be by the conclusion of the morning’s maintenance. Sorry for any confusion on my part.

I :heartbroken: Blizzard

Why? That sounds like a good thing, especially since they nerfed occulus and boosted our gear, what's the big deal? thumpy, you and i can solo that mofo by now my brother.

Blinks, you choose dps in the Random Dungeon Finder, wait for 20 minutes to get a spot and then end up in Oculus whereupon the tank and healer immediately leave the party and you start the wait again. Guess Blizz got wind of it.

Ok, well, i haven't played with the latest changes yet, my poxy or "avatar" did my Xmas achievements :p

i literally have about 20 mins experience with the latest patch (being the one we got in early Dec)

So i'll join up again this week and start vloeking with you all, but i'll be back, so the vloeking will be less and the good times will be more :D

AND i can heal that mofo with Preddi :D

You'll have to. There is a new pet [Perky Pug] to be got.

I would be happy to get that drop too

I've got it on Milly and Dibbs but tbh couldn't be arsed to get it on Thumpy as tanking for pugs is like fighting for peace or ... for virginity.

Ooooh, it gots to get got!
But i have all my pet achieves...

Blizz has double standards, i mean, how can i have a pug on an RP server?
How can i have mohawk grenades on an RP server?
How can i have a character named "Haris Pilton" on an RP server

Mind you, those things are probably much more subtle than a char named "Azkrahkraypuhr"... Some people...

I have only got oculus twice. The first time the server restarted on us halfway through and I lost the group and the second time we finished it. In contrast I have done Nexus and Utgarde Keep and Gundrak more times than I can count.

I must admit, I do miss the 'good old days' of springchicken lvl80s where we battled to finish heroics in our blues and greens. I _HATED_ nexus because I kept dying on the bloody 1st boss and his crappy warrior spinning thing. Not to mention that wench who chucks you all over.

I enjoyed Utgarde keep immensely and never again do I want to see that idiot mammoth from the Less-rabi chiefmint.

I'm keen to start again after I've gone through my myriad of single player games and Guild Wars content - so I'm guessing by 2015 I'll be ready. My rogue only has a full set of lvl 213 gear though, so he's pretty much useless compared to everyone else I'd imagine.

At least he can still stealth, pick-pocket and sap - things I will never accomplish, even with good gear :p

With the random heorics and the multi realm that join you, getting good gear is actually a bit of a joke. They are just making it to easy and taking away the joy of who gets that nice shining new item when it drops after a succesfull boss kill.

Also the heroics are run so quickly these days that if you die you just have to run in and catch up, even if the tank dies they tell the warrior or someone else to tank untill he gets back.

Anyway, can not complain to much otherwise you will not be able to get even the trash down in ICC. All i can say is that they are going to nerf ICC very soon.

They already nerfed ICC. Marrowgar is a lot easier than he first was. We were just unprepared and a lot of the peeps had never seen ICC before. Was a damned good first try though.

On another note, I've already seen the new blue proto-drake drop off Skadi and I'm hoping the extra loot bag for Foculus will be live today. May as well get something out of the experience.

And they nerfed the lady yesterday. 2.5mil off her mana shield and the adds are easiar. We one shotted her on 25man last night, where as last week it was a wipe fest!! Blizzard likes to keep people chasing. All this gear means nothing by the end of the year anyway. Cataclysm. Papa awaits you....

Yep, I'm keen for cataclysm...

The big thing that grips me about wow is free travel. I friggen love just running around aimlessly on my land mounts. It's going to be a bit strange with cataclysm when you'll be able to fly around azeroth. Not sure if I like the idea of that yet. :meh:

I'm sure you don't HAVE to fly if you don't want to

Something to consider - it's not the original Azeroth anymore. Azeroth, as we know it, will be destroyed, and after playing in the desserts, swamplands, grasslands, arid plains and tundras that Azeroth had to offer, we are going to have to say goodbye to them, as a new landscape is ushered in.

Thousand Needless is going to be filled with water. The Barrens is going to have a crater through the middle. Mount Hyjal will be accessible, new mountains will be formed, current weather systems will change completely and that tundra may become a jungle!

Also, you won't be able to fly everywhere, only certain zones will be flight friendly, so there is still AMPLE places where you can still ride along on your landmount... wait... what am i saying?! There is only a HANDFUL of locations in WoW where a flying mount is needed, like Ulduar. Heck, you can even get summoned up to Naxx - so why is it an issue? no one is forcing you to fly voicy maloicy, if you want to klap 'n toon with a land mount, no one is telling you NO! Jy kan darem maar oor tos kla as jy die dag lus het. :gno:

Duuuude how can u knock flying in Azeroth!?

I can fly in Outlands, I can fly in Northrend, why the hell doesnt my bird want to fly in Azeroth? Bring it on!

The real bonus is, they are making questing smoother, no more grinding. So leveling alts wont be such a chore and new players can have an easier time. Azeroth needs a face lift! Some of those areas and quests are kaka.

I think the simplest thing to do is to ask you, at the character creation level, what level character you want and remove the stupid leveling achievements. I mean, seriously, is it an achievement to hit level 10? 20? Redonk!

I'd make all my chars level 58 and klap Outlands, gear is my problem, not Blizzard's, and i'd happily suffer with crappy gear for a few levels than suffer a few nights getting to said level.

But you have to level at least your first char, otherwise you won't know what you're doing :p

Yeah thats actually a decent idea.

I wonder what the new players joining the game vs old players with new chars ratio is.
