So, opinions needed.

Now, I'm looking at purchasing a new keyboard relatively soon, right.

I'm currently looking at the Logitech G15 for numerous reasons. Does anyone know anything about this keyboard or have it?

If you do, do you know of any problems/anything and could you make suitable suggestions?

I'm willing to spend anything up to R1100 or so.

Thanks for your help.

I've also got a g15. Love the keyboard, but the build quality is shoddy. My 'A' key has gone all funny. Doesn't sit upright anymore.. leans over to the back. Still works fine tho.

Also, the paint has worn through just below the space bar where my thumb rests while I'm playing games.

Would I buy another one? Maaaaaybe. If I found another brand that had similar properties... then no. I really like the LCD screen, having the clock there is convenient. Don't really care for the game stats it shows for certain games. Only really useful plugin was the TS plugin, but it was buggy as all hell. It would crash all the time, ie just stop working. The media keys are pretty cool as well. I've gotten very used to using the volume control, also the media playback display (track info) on the lcd is nice as well. LCD is a cute gimmick for me. I'd rather have one of those LCD monitors that had a lil 9" LCD display panel sticking out the side to put the clock and stuffs on. ;)

Lynus, I would certainly go for a razer keyboard over the logitech! I have a G11 (G15 without the LCD), it's nice, but man the razer keyboards, mice and headsets ROCK!

Razer Tarantula review - 80% - $99 (http://www.firingsquad.com/hardware/razer_tarantula_review/)

Logitech G19 review - 87% - $199 (http://www.firingsquad.com/hardware/logitech_g19_keyboard_review/)

Wolf King Timberwolf Review - 85% - $45 (http://www.firingsquad.com/hardware/wolf_king_timberwolf_review/)

The review on the Tarantula looks favourable - do yourself a favour, don't get a keyboard with a non-standard key layout, if you're used to the QWERTY keyboard layout any other design is going to screw your mind. I have an awesome waterproof keyboard with keys in funny places, confuses me totally.

I could ask why you require a waterproof keyboard, but I suspect that would just be too much information :P

It was just one of the features of the XGR keyboard and mouse I got. Gave the mouse to Sunny because it was too small for my hands.

Funnily enough, a couple of nights ago my roof sprung a leak while I was sleeping. We had heavy rain and the single drop was splashing on the area just in front of my keyboard. My KB got soaked, and luckily a few drops splashed on my LCD but no harm was caused.

I just dried off my desk, keyboard & LCD & was back in business.

Yes, I have knocked my beer all over this keyboard & it is still rocking :D Guess it's an alchy's KB :p

One of my friends has a razor lycosa, after about 6 months the surface of the keys started to wear off.
Now all you see is little round light holes, really ruins the look of the keyboard. And if your still looking at the keyboard while you type that could be a problem :p

So, I found the Razer Lycosa (http://www.take2.co.za/electronics-razer-lycosa-gaming-keyboard-3161188.html) at Take2 for R752

And the Logitech G15 (http://www.take2.co.za/electronics-logitech-g15-keyboard-3695356.html) at Take2 for R1067

From the reviews on Take2, I would say that the Lycosa comes off second best. Although the G15 is a good R300 more expensive, it seems like the better buy at this stage.

I'm still open to suggestions tho, haven't made my mind up just yet.

feck at those prices i would rather import something decent

---------- Post added at 03:31 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:25 PM ----------

eg. http://www.amazon.com/Saitek-PK17U-Keyboard-Tri-Color-Backlighting/dp/B000VOE466/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&s=pc&qid=1264771646&sr=1-10

that thing looks nice! I think its askari who is a big Saitek ho'. The price also aint that bad.

I know it's amazon.com but I read this on have2have.co.za

However, we at Have2Have will be able to source any item that is available from Amazon.com for you. If you can’t find the item already listed on our website let us know and we will send you the link to the product faster than you can say “amazon.com”. Remember the price on our site includes the cost from Amazon, shipping to South Africa, our small service fee and all the costs paid to SARS on your behalf.

We can get anything in stock and sold by Amazon.com as well as from select subselslers, unfortunately smaller stores, and private individuals who sell their wares via the Amazon.com online space are at this stage not supported.

So dont just look locally.

Yeah, thanks Stool.

I found it at have2have, here (http://www.have2have.co.za/product/Saitek-PK17U-Cyborg-Gaming-Keyboard-with-Tri-Color-Backlighting/40141/) for R1224.85.

have2have seems to have a nice collection.

Apparently Saitek makes awesome KB's....

Personally, though, if it were me I'd whack that Tarantula - but then that's just me.

The reclusa is made by razer.

I'm not so sure! it looks more like it's 1/2 razer and 1/2 microsoft

http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Microsoft/Reclusa

(it also looks like Razer have disowned it, there is no mention of it on their website)

Lynus, why not go for the G19 then
