On Wed Robyn and I signed an OTP for a house.

We offered R45K less the price they were asking.... They accepted it!
So this weekend will be spent in long ques at banks finding out who will give us the best rate :woot:

The people staying in the house are renting right now and their lees expires in March, but they are interested in staying longer too! That way we will have peeps paying our bond till we get married and move in, in September!

Lulz thanks guys, I'm super stoked, just need to get this bond sorted ASAP!

Voicy don't you mean, be prepared to have every last cent you earn after the bank has taken your money for the bond be spent in "@ home".

Also it will most likely be at Mr Price home, hey I don't earn that much M'kay :p

erm... thanks RB (I think), hey I'm excited spelling is the least of my worries right now :D

That's fab news Noodle. Having the renters paying your bond in the mean time is excellent.
Every spare cent should be thrown at your bond though, not at Mr "lots of cash" Price. We can spare some extra cardboard boxes for tables if you need :D ANd affirmative shopping at the @ (folks) home is also acceptable for the first 10 years of marriage, at least :D

Have fun at the banks, I hope you're good at bargaining, they need you right now just as much as you need them.

Thanks Tres, I'm already putting tags on stuff in the folks house to come along :p

Any cardboard box tables are welcome.
I have the perfect money making scheme for the house though, I'm gonna charge entrance when people come visit :D

At first I wanna take any spare cent and put it into a rainy day fund, once that is good enough, then spare change will go into the bond.

Oi!, noodle, give me a shout if you need any help, i'm in the bond industry.
To start with ask Standard Bank if they still have the special deal to pay your registation fees if you come directly to them or if you bank with Standard, check with FNB if they will give you a 1% of the rate if you move your accounts.
I will pm you my cell, phone anytime. Otherwise i'm Fourways next week Tue, Wed, Thurs. You supply beer, I supply info. :D

Nice Noodlie. It's so nice having a place of your own. The bond part is yucky...but that's how life goes. As Tres says, you spend many hours figuring out how much you can shove into your bond without going hungry.
Whenever our bond statment arrives, I freak out still....just a little. I've never owed anyone so much in all my life!

Nice one noodles house  !!!!

Don't worry about a rainy day fund get a bond that you can draw the excess money you paid into, that way the bond is the rainy day fund.

Thanks for the cell Sintax, I'll be sure to phone you at some random hour and breath heavily for you!
