View Full Version : Guild Entrance Tests

I propose a formal test for new guild members.
This may include stuff like

1. Leading a party
2. Following a Leader.
3. Calling targets
4. Showing you know how to play the class(es) you have.
5. Following orders
6. Use Team Speak ...

Any others ?

This would be a good test for an officers position or someone who would want to lead a guild pvp or maybe just partake in it don't you think?:hmmm: the reason I say this is because where would one set the bench mark for people trying to enter the guild? just let the ppl who spent alot of time fine-tuning and playing with there GW characters into the guild? This wouldnt be fair on alot of new ppl who have'nt been playing that long.

True. We do get people who are simply trying to get the hang of it and only need support in some of the missions or help in figuring out the game.

Perhaps a few simpler tests to determine the person's gameplay methods and their overall "friendliness" in a party ( ie. not going astray in a quest, etc ) will decide the outcome of our invite.

My 2 cents.

I fully agree,

The stuff I mentioned was more of 'here are some idea's' things rather than what I would see as a test.

Of course newer players would be welcome'd with a simple thing like, yea we have fun playing with you.

But the more advanced players have set playing styles and those need to be in line with the 'fun' thing. Personally i dont like people that just 'quit' from a mission/quest if they die once. Now a new player would most probbly not do this while a older player may infact do this on a regular basis and cause loads of heartache for the rest of his team.

I for one dont like players like that.
But i could be alone in this.

i agree with players quiting halfway through a mission, it simply puts too much strain on the remaining players.

perhaps like Pios said we could enforce some of the points in the first post on experienced players thinking of join the guild some time in the future when we have GvG games planned.

I hate leavers too Pios. But, I dont think we should become too elitist. The main aim of this little community of ours is to have fun. And Im sure any gripes we have with a persons play style can be sorted out in game :p For me, a persons attitude is the thing to judge. Its NOT fun playing with A-holes. As for TeamSpeak and sum such......Im on 56k so hell no! :D

I am on 56k at times too, and TS works fine there ...

But i digress.
I didnt mean to sound elitest. I appologize if it came accross as such.

I was actually just mentioning a few things that i for one look at when playing with a person.
its not 'RULES' but more a guide to see if they fit in with my vission of a player i enjoy playing with.

As for Teamspeak Ill probably have to get me some sort of Microphone... hmm maybe one of those uber ones with headphones/Mic:rolleyes:
Tho im not sure how my connection will handle TS.
