Well my windows xp home expired so i installed xp pro on another drive.. didnt want to go through the whole shebang of reinstalling bf2 so i just did this
insert cd1... start install.. quit install as its coping files... this sets up the registry
go onto cd1.. run that cdkeyenterrerthingy.. to get the cd key in the registry
now copy game files to where you said you where installing it...
now copy old battlefield2 directory out of your old documents and settings into your new documents and settings
game is now playable!
total time about 4 minutes
havent tried EF or SF but i think i just need to add some more registry settings
