I see that this title is now on the rental circuit.
If you haven't seen it - make a plan.
Briefly - about Marine Scout Snipers in first Gulf War. Not a propaganda movie. Also not you typical war movie either. This is not Chuck, Rambo, Wayne, or Brando.

"You teach a man to use a gun. Then he goes to war and when he comes back, he tries to have a normal life. But whatever he may do with those hands, build a house, love a woman, change his son's nappy, his hands will always remember the gun." This movie almost had me off FPS games for good. It's a real good movie, but it shows the bad side of war. To me it felt like the whole movie works up to an anti-climax. Now I understand what catharsus means. I started playing again some days later when I realized that it's all about balance and while I love to play soldier, ever since I was a kid, I never want to be one. And thats OK.

@W@ll...hmmm....there is a good side to war? Can't say I ever noticed one. Crocodile Harris said it best: War! What is it good for? Absolutely nothing!

Sminty I meant that in movies, war is often romanticised. It's made into lots of spectacular scenes, happy endings and kewl explosions. This is mostly followed by lots of American flag waving at the end of the story after the USMC has kicked the other guys ass. Also lots of slapps on the shoulder and "We Rawk!" and stuff like that. This movie isn't like that and it isn't what you're used to. It's real war with real death and real terror and horror. There's no flag waving and instead of the slap on the shoulder, a bit of a slap in the face.

I haven't seen this movie but the concept sounds very similar to "The Deer Hunter"...if you haven't seen it I highly recommend it.

Not even close to deer hunter. Deer hunter will remain the legend.

You're probably thinking of Guarana, the additive to all those energy drinks.
