This is an experiment, so please bear with us. We'll get better as we do more episodes.
Note that this is almost 60 minutes. It's a bit long, and we'll definitely keep it shorter next time.

I get confused as to whose voice matches who. I can recognise TeeeGeee and voicy, but I don't know when Flatty or Rainy is talking... :/
You're ALL super geeky ('cept Nitty - I understand no why she was telling me she doesn't know how to join in :gyes). I was LOL-ling so much at all the lingo.

Well that's why I introduced everybody at the beginning.
Rainy is the voice with the german accent. He also tends to err.. accent words in weird places. :p But I'll forgive him cuz he's not a native english speaker. ;)

Yeah, but their brief "hello" wasn't enough to really give a lasting ID of who is who. And I forgot after a while which voice was associated with which greeting at the beginning.

I like to think of it as spicing up things a little :p

3 things I noticed while re-listening to the whole thing:
- Nice editing, TeeGee!
- I can stand listening to my own voice much more now than a few years back
- We did ramble a bit too much at times ;)

I *still* hate listening to my own voice. :p

So... I want to submit the podcast to the itunes directory, but NOOOOO. The freely available podcast directory is not available to South African store accounts. Which means I can't submit it, because in order to submit it, you need to login. And I can't create a US account either, because they want payment information to create a store account, and I don't have a US credit card, or a US paypal account.

TG why did you edit out my voice and replace it with that random one? He sounds quite odd. :/

Sorry man, we felt David Prowse would do it better.

Next time I'd like to be narrated by David Aaron Baker. Or Morgan Freeman. :unimpressed:

Or Sean Connery  He could talk me to death anyday :faint:

If you would like to subscribe to the podcast feed in iTunes or whatever reader you might have, you can use the following URL: http://www.wargeeks.org/external.php?forumids=106
(We're trying to get the URL submitted to the iTunes store, but we're having challenges at the moment)

I have submitted the URL to the German ITMS. For now I guess it's better than nothing. Guess we need to hit up some US connections to get the cast submitted there.

It should be global if it's submitted via the German store.

I feel affronted, but you are right - perhaps more of an introduction would have been appropriate for listeners to get a clear indication of who is who in the zoo.

TG, maybe you should think of the pilot as a test & now that these other valid points have been raised, such as association of voices & others we brought up we, or whoever takes part, could produce a slicker podcast?

Awesome guys, just remember that South Africans tend to talk very fast, when I worked in Europe I was asked on several occasions to speak slower by my clients :P

I think I'd prefer Jeremy Irons too. Or James Earl Jones - Darth Vader, and "this is cnn live!"

Hum. Methinks you may not have gotten my obscure joke.
David Prowse was the actor that played Darth Vader. HIS voice was replaced without his knowledge by James Earl Jones.

I have created an outtakes reel, which you can download from here: http://www.wargeeks.org/podcasts/War_Geeks_Podcast_Episode_1_Outtakes.mp3 Size: 1067576 bytes
This is stuff that didn't make it into the actual podcast (for the most part).

I've updated the 'About the podcast' thread with the URLs.
