So, let me get this straight - the greedy bastage adds 8 minutes of footage to a movie most people have seen already & he wants to re-release it at full price AGAIN?

Err, what?
I thought Avatar was cool, and I watched it twice and enjoyed it both times. But to go there again for 8 minutes? Especially after a masterpiece like Inception made Avatar look like a story penned by 6 year olds?

I'm sorry, but I'm with Rainy on this one (Especially about the Inception description :D )
I don't think it's an issue of making more money, i think it's an issue of demand, and it's incredible to see how many people want to go watch it again.
I am certainly going to take my dad this time around, and for the masterpiece that is Avatar, I will happily pay their price to watch it again.
Besides, all my other movies are free :D
You're bitching now, but did you bitch when they remastered and re-released Star Wars?
On how many different occasion did they re-screen gone with the wind?
No man, the people want to see it, and I'm happy that they're giving the people what they want, it makes for a nice change.

then again, Cameron is currently busy with a 3D remake of his own Titanic, to hit the circuit next year... I really don't know what I think of that one.

Well, Vudu is absolutely gaga over Titanic, and I'm SURE he's not the only one (I thought titanic was a piece of shit, one of the greatest let down in cinema history for me)
Just remember, if they're bringing it out on the big screen, it's because there's a MARKET for it.
You gentlemen don't buy tampons, but it doesn't mean there ain't a MARKET for it.

Now if only 3D movies didn't make my head explode with migraines and my eyes struggle to focus for days afterwards.
I read there are people who are worried about the long term effect of watching lots of 3D movies on young kids. They worry it might stuff up their normal 3D perception permanently. Something to think about when you want to spend 80K on that nice new 50" 3D LED tv with 200hz refresh rate, ideal for wathing 3D movies, that I saw today.

I don't think any Geeks will be spending R80K on a TV - they like bling cars, computers, consoles & other toys way too much :p

Apparently about 10% of people can't enjoy 3D movies. Personally I think that the way they trick your brain intro thinking something is deeper or shallower than it actually is can't be good for you.

I must admit that 3D movies make my eyes very tired. Maybe because I then have 6 eyes in stead of 2  Who knows? Glasses on glasses don't work so well for me.
