Man I really hated it.
Such a cop out. Got ten million questions that need answering and they pull the religion card.

Really annoyed I spent that much time following it.

In my eyes it was a fail. I found the ending overdone, it gave no closure and it left a crapload of open questions.

I started watching again after getting bored of it.

I'm on Season 4 ep 8 or 9 I think. It's losing its shine again. :meh:

Thar be spoilers, yar!

You see, i think that's what makes the ending so brilliant.
I was FURIOUS, absolutely livid, that they chose the route they chose, i actually wanted to stop watching, didn't even want to wait for the final 'Lost' screen to appear.

But then i sat back and i thought about it. How else was it supposed to end? Stool, you say religion, but it's clearly open for interpretation, i like to think they all went to heaven (or what my expectation/hope of what heaven is). Sayid, the torturer, went to 'heaven'. Their lives meant something. It MEANT something. And they were rewarded.

Again, I was sick to my stomach and angry at the creators for choosing the route that they did, but when it comes to connecting all the themes, Jack being the doubting Thomas back on the island and in then in the afterlife, and how they all knew how to get back and find each other to help Jack, to give him that final push, to be there for him like he was there for them - live together, die alone.

I don't think it was a fail, and though i initially thought it was cop-out deluxe, i realised that there was no other way to end it.

It's poetic, not because of the engineered hollywood schmaltz, but because the theme for the last episode was letting go, and now the onus is on us, the viewers, to let go.

I don't mind if you didn't like it - a bit sad maybe, but i don't mind - the point is that i did and i'm thankful that i can appreciate Lost for what it is. And what it is, in my opinion at least, is an epic, beautiful, heartfelt television masterpiece. I'm just sorry you guys didn't experience it the way i did, because you have no idea how happy i am.

I wanna know what happened to Eko :(

In real life, the actor who portrays Mr Eko lost his parents* and wanted to return to his home to bury them and be with his family. He subsequently requested that the writers kill him off, as they had a longer arch planned for him.

In the story, in his final moments, Eko is seen walking away with his brother and their soccer ball - as he was 'judged' by the smoke, he said that he has no regrets in his life, everything he did was to survive. The smoke kills him, but since he didn't have any lingering issues, it's safe to assume that he is at peace.

Also, Hurley and Ben are the new care takers of the island. Hurley made it his job to seek out the whispers (a.k.a. random dead people) and help them find their peace.

You see, I enjoyed LOST while it lasted. I watched seasons 1-3 back to back, and when Season 3 ended I really hated them for the cliffhanger, because I was sooo intrigued as to what would happen next and I had to wait for so long because of the writer's strike.

Then during season 4 I sometimes thought they had lost the plot, but then again it's also difficult to follow the series in a weekly format (at least I thought so). Season 5 really gripped me, and I enjoyed Season 6 a lot - right up until the end.

I found the last disappointing, and I found myself unable to pour even a fraction of the thought into it that you have put in. Which is a clear sign that the ending didn't do anything for me. I wouldn't go as far as saying it was a complete fail, but it did feel like a bit of a cop-out.

So the Groves took the same from Lost as I did, and i am relieved - it could've gone the other way.
Now I ordered myself the collectors edition blu-ray boxset with senet game. Yes, like Scrubs, I'm guessing this is something i'll watch at least once a year.

I'm on season 5 episode the-one-with-the-girl's-hubby-being-shot-dead.

Does anyone have season 6 for me perhaps? Rainy is sending me Castle on dvd and thought i'd maybe sponge off for more series.

I'm actually enjoying lost again for a change. Season 3-4 was a bit lame.
