So the Real Men Wear Pink's GL had a b'day and his wife made him a birthday cake.

Everything is handmade/edible with no molds used, only the ricepaper was printed.

I think it came out quite nicely...

Apparently it didn't last very long:

Bizzmark (South African bloke) reckons his lightie took about out of the little stick-figure's shoulder piece, which was also made from chocolate. Thereby, removing his Tier set bonus. :p

Sal kyk of ek 'n fototjie kan kry.

Oooh gossip girl time! I gotta hear this ... Out with the full story!

lol The usual guild nonsense. Power struggles ect. Something all wow players suffer from at some point. RMWP went through a rough time just before I took my break. It all started with the first downing of the Lich King in 10man. It happened on an unorganized raid on a saturday afternoon using the "organised" weeks raid lock. That make sense? There was a specific group of handpicked "no lifers" that were chosen to down the LK. Some of those people that had spent months grinding away at it weren't online so they never got credit. Needless to say the proverbial poo hit the fan. It just spiraled from there. Factions, distrust, name calling. I wasn't involved but all the bitching just left a bitter taste in my mouth AGAIN. Anyway Bizzy held the guild together through a guild split. He worked hard on keeping moral up. I respect him for that. He keeps a cool head.

Yeah its pretty much happened in every top guild ever. RMWP is where all people from other guilds apply when they fall out. Ive heard the stories over and over.
I think it was felt deeper here because the community is very close and not just a wow clan. Some good people were lost in the fire imo.

But Hell! Its almost christmas chaps!! My lady is getting a 13th cheque!! Im so excited, ive been browsing expansys all morning sending her links. She isnt taking the bait though. Not yet anyway.

Ever since gypsy mentioned something about exploding cake I've only been imagining exploding cakes.

She has yet to post me the recipe for making an exploding cake.

Gypsy
25th October 2010, 04:51 PM
the cake is not exploding

Sorry it doesn't explode :)

The magic in this cake comes from 2 special effects:

The dry ice in the magma chamber, and the hard candy lava streaming down the sides of the volcano.

We constructed our volcano using 3 seperate cake sections:

Bundt cake base
Dome cake middle (baked in medium bowl)
Inverted cupcake peak

We used a small juice glass to first cut out the center of the middle layer before stacking it on top of the bundt cake base. Next, insert the glass into the cavity. This is your magma chamber.

Cut a vent through the center of the cupcake peak section. Frost both the main cake and the cupcake peak, but dont put the top on just yet.

To make the candy lava you’ll need:

1 cup sugar
1/2 cup Karo syrup
1/4 cup water
Red food coloring
Combine these ingredients and bring to a boil in a saucepan. Heat to 300 deg F. Remove from heat. Pour candy lava into the desired shapes onto a foil-lined baking sheet. Allow to cool.

Just before you are ready to serve the cake, drop a chunk of dry-ice into the glass, and pour in some cold warm water. Put the top piece onto the volcano and arrange the candy lava on the sides.

If you want your cake to actually bubble over with oozing lava, then add sweetened, colored egg white to the dry ice in the magma chamber rather than water. We didn’t think that sounded very apetizing, but it sure would look cool. Here is the recipe for the oozing goo:

1 egg white
2tbsp sugar
food coloring
Dropping that into your volcano will result in a nice eruption that should last for a few minitues.

You didn't sing: "This was a triumph! (http://www.sweetslyrics.com/526302.Valve%20-%20Still%20Alive%20%28portal%29%20.html) ... " instead of: "Happy Buph day 2 U!" did you? Cause that would have been awesome, and forced the point across.

Ooh my favourite part:

Aperture Science:
We do what we must
because we can.

For the good of all of us.
Except the ones who are dead.

But there's no sense crying
over every mistake.
You just keep on trying
till you run out of cake.
And the science gets done.
And you make a neat gun
for the people who are
still alive.
