If you were ever wondering how we connect with the rest of the world:

You should check out the Original article (http://manypossibilities.net/african-undersea-cables/) it has some interesting facts on who owns what, and other stuff.

The ACE link, owned by France Telecom looks like it could boost capacity somewhat. :) AND probably give you lower latencies to the European gaming servers.

Can you believe that SAT3/SAFE was virtually all we had to the outside world..

:hmmm:

Sometimes I STILL think that!

Now, if them nasty Efrikan countries up north can just stop Ninja'ing our precious bandwidth! I know that the Hinternet is supposed to be free, but get your own frikkin' cables!

I don't like that EASSy link much, doesn't seem to go anywhere worthwhile but it comes back here. oh, noez, no wonder...

I was under the impression that EASSy links to India..
Possibly through the other cables in that area I suppose..

Looks Like it connects to the EIG and I-ME-WE cables in Djibouti and they have the same bandwidth as the EASSy, but with all them Indians and Arab's I'm sure it will be pretty busy. ACE and WACS look to be the Shiz.

WACS is going to be the meneer. EASSy peers directly with some of the other Northern cables so its still pretty decent.
