Reasons why LOTRO is a steaming pile of poop

Im so angry I want to phone some kind of support person and swear at them alot. If you know me then you would know I dont swear often.

I have been trying unsuccessfully for the last 3 days to buy the game and its expansions. I honestly have.
The information they have available was probably written by a blind illiterate person and as such is of no use. Never have I seen a company that are this useless at actually selling you a product, its no wonder they never will compete with the likes of Blizzard.

I cant find a single place to buy keys online, there is a place to redeem keys but nowhere to buy them. Their sites are all completely illogical and laid out like the mindless doodling of a 3 year old.
Everytime I get anywhere near thinking I might have accidentally stumbled into the correct place it heads right on back to the "Join for free LULZ!!11!!!1" section.
It seems they dont want you to pay for the game, they would rather frustrate the living #### out of you instead and have you forever stuck in free to play.

So I hope I dont actually enjoy the game in the end because then I will want to buy it and this will all start again.

I think I might quit while im behind and start wow instead, at least they have decent support and are willing to take my money in exchange for a product.

They have changed quite a few things in their account management system and I dont believe that anyone tested it from a user side - so, if you want to play a bit more, I can pass my account details for you to enjoy. I like the feel of lotro gameplay. Maybe its just the new story. I just go through the story and when I get to "the end" I tend to drop things (much like I did with wow).

But yeah. Their implementation on the payment side is real irritating. You'd think they would have a look their major competitors setups and try compete.

Gassie you are very kind, but I think im done. Im going to take a look at wow instead. I think wow is a bit more polished from the time I spent in it and the mounts etc are better. LOTRO was going to be fun but I hate the idea of battling with things.

Well it is a very different game now than what it was before patch 4. You level up MUCH quicker, the race story lines are very interesting - particularly for the worgen, but you won't be able to check that out unless you buy ALL the content :p

Yep, that's the one.
Get a copy of Voicy's WoW directory (delete any existing Interface & WTF sub-directories in it).

Create a battle.net account, and apply the serial keys from all the games. You should get at least 30 days with the game.

Log on. Create your toon. Without CAT, you probably won't be able to create a goblin or a worgen.

LOTRO is a good game and all and I enjoy playing with you peeps but, I think my time has come too..
Not really interested in paying for the game and F2P is too much of a shlep. Guess it's back to BF2 with Souper for me then.

Not sure how you would achieve that really. You'd need to install the client, assuming you removed it, or if not, patch it to the latest which is a patch of around 14-15gb in total (the big 4.0 patch, plus all the latest crap that has been streamed since then). Then you'll have to faff with all the addons and update them, remove the non-working ones and find replacements for them if necessary (like fubar), and then you'd need to figure out wtf they've done with the talent trees and spells since you last played, set your talent tree and figure out how to play your toons again since everything is different now.

This could take awhile, and Arby will probably have an 80 by the time you're all sorted, and since he knows his toon and you don't know yours anymore, he will kick you inna pantie.

I too found the LOTRO interface difficult to navigate. I like the game itself because the "stuff" looks less cartoony than WoW and my family and friends are playing.

Good luck with that though. Im a hordie on Laughing Skull. And while you could roll a DK and come and chase me down, it is unlikely that the bunch of 85's standing behind me would approve of it :p
