Get the client here: http://mumble.sourceforge.net/ ~14mb, download the stable version.

Install it, run through the audio wizard, and also create a security certificate. Just let it do it automatically.

Create a connection to the IS Gaming server:
Address:ts.isgaming.co.za
Port:64738 (Default)
Channel: WrG and Friends
Sub Channels: BF3, LOTRO, General

Access token for the channel is: WrGBF3

NOTE: Copy the above token, and within your mumble client, go to Server->Access Tokens, click ADD and paste the key in there. That's it.
When you join the channel, the token list is checked, and if a matching key is found, you're let in.

By default, the settings are pretty basic, but you can click the 'advanced' checkbox to get in to some serious fiddling if you want.

Text-to-speech works quite well as well.

NOTE: Once you have configured Mumble, QUIT and restart it. Changes don't get saved until you quit.

This is probably going to be one of my many TL;DR posts, but I strongly...

This is probably going to be one of my many TL;DR posts, but I strongly urge you to read it. I like to think that the enormous amount of time I spend writing these things is at least worth you reading it in full.

Before this gets any further and panties get more twisted than normal: There is a lot of confusion as to what the hoo-ha is right now. Let me try explain as I see it. Let me also point out that I think it's ridiculous that I feel that I have to explain this.

It seems that Punky has upset some WoW players with his horrible attempts at humour. We know that Punky likes to make jokes that only he finds funny, by making jabs at WoW players, and some WoW players just don't get it and think he is deliberately trying to cause strife. I think WoW players are especially sensitive due to the major issues that it has caused in the clan in the past, however the troubles there were not unique (referring to the first major split due to Guild Wars), and there will most likely be further MMO related strife in the future (Although certain clan policies exist now because of those past issues).

What the WoW players seem to forget when Punky is making jabs, is that Punky was one of the first War Geeks to start playing WoW way back when. He and Darnit used to play it quite heavily, and even got a lot of us to move over from Guild Wars. I still remember the first time I logged in to WoW, Punky took me on a whirlwind tour of Azeroth, porting us to all the major cities at the time. I was as confused as all hell - thanks Punky, you schmuck.

My point is... whenever he's making jabs at WoW players, he is making those same jabs at himself.

I really don't like that we have to be "politically correct" in terms of what we say around other game players here for fear of hurting their sensibilities. A phrase that a German friend of mine is fond of uttering: "Build a bridge and get over it".

If you can't take (or give) friendly jabs in a community of friends, then what are you doing here?

They have a sound engineer that works for them, 3 young guys run it, and they have plenty of demo gear on their premises. Their service is excellent, and they go the extra mile to make sure you are satisfied. They'll even do your installation, if you want.

The completely specced all the equipment for a job I am doing, helping me out with wiring diagrams, etc, and they have a passion for what they do. You couldn't meet a friendlier bunch of guys, either.

Hey Geeks

Quick one for you all. I have started a community initiative called JHBGamers and partnered up with guys in DBN and CPT.
The premise of it is for like minded people, in this case, Gamers, to get together and meet socially and basically do what we do with pizza meetups.
However we get the industry involved as well and have distributors and media attend, giving them a chance to meet their market face to face. Sometimes the distributors bring a long some prizes and goodies for all. But we focus on the social aspect (I know right, so unlike a gamer).

SO anyways if you folks are keen to see what it's all about. Look for @JHBGamers on Twitter and JHBGamers on FB. DBn you can find @DBNGamers on Twitter and DBNGamers on FB. Cpt look for @2UPGamers on Twitter and 2UPGamers on FB.
Soon there will be a site dedicated to them as well.

Happy day all!

I never thought it would become necessary to state what I thought was...

I never thought it would become necessary to state what I thought was obvious - but then when you're dealing with things on a daily basis, what is obvious to you is not necessarily obvious to newcomers.

This forum is for a South African gaming community called The War Geeks. We started out as a clan that played Battlefield 2, but then things diversified from there. We now consider ourselves a general gaming community. While we are a closed community (in terms of membership to the clan), we do welcome everyone that comes to the forums, and as long as you have a similar mind-set to your fellow forumites, you'll fit in just fine. Heck, you may even be invited to be a member of the clan at some stage. You can read a bit about us here.

Some things that may not be obvious to new forum members:

We try to keep this site "family friendly". This means that when we post, we keep the language clean. Yes, we do have a "May Offend" forum, but there are also limits as to what we will post there, or allow to be posted there. Smut is absolutely out of the question, rude jokes are ok in that forum. Blatantly offensive stuff is not.

Dear WarGeek Clan
Yes you, the ones in need of a tan
I wanted to know
If you'd care to show
Your mad rhyming skeelz man!

So on Friday next
For more funsies in your text
I suggest each post should rhyme
It's only for a limited time
So show us your brain has been flexed

By the power vested in me,
By you and this admin blood-red
Be all that you can be
And show us that Zed's dead baby, Zed's dead

Sure that last line didn't make sense
You all know me as dense
My whimsy immense
Let me go lick that girl from sixpence

I don't know what we can do for a reward, but the last one was a huge success, I think this one can be a lot of fun too.

Ahh boo. :(

The biggest problem is that you're not reading the registration form properly. There are some very specific questions that you need to answer in a particular way. If the field isn't exactly as I want, then I delete your registration. Don't worry, you will know which fields they are if you actually read the form and fill it out properly.

This requirement has some benefits:

Dumbass robot spammers that get through all the other checks don't know about the fields, so leave them at default. DELETE.

Dumbass human spammers are too lazy to fill in the form properly. DELETE.

Dumbasses in general that are too lazy or don't bother to change the fields. DELETE.

Works for me, either way. :D
