    Default PCI Latency

    This tool might help if you have stuttering issues with your AGP graphics or sound (get major graphics slow downs etc).

    Lower is better, but try changing your audio card / graphics card to similar settings as your other cards... usually a value of 64 or 32 is good.

    Thanks TG - have set it - value was 380-something, but have not noticed much difference so far ... mind you, I didn't specially have a problem before, but better safe than sorry

    I think i'll just leave mine alone ...
    But that's cos I don't know what a stutter is.
    I know about the initial bit when you've just entered the map for the first time, is that the "stutter" ?

    i also get an initial map entrance stutter for the first 2 mins... then all is smooth.

    Nah, that's just the loading lag, until all the textures are loaded properly. Until then, when you move along the map, the new textures are still being loaded. Happens with most games, but BF2 is very prone to it...

    What happens to me lately is that a few minutes into the game, the game freezes for about 10 seconds or so. Sound goes into a loop, no mouse movements etc... After that, it goes on normally, only that by that time I am mostly dead... :/
    It is not the responsibility of a defender to leave the objective unguarded just so his opponent sucks less.

    Hmmm - interesting Rainy ... have also been getting similar glitches ... normally at a critical point when in close combat !

    I was in a chopper with FighterPhoenix yesterday on Wake Island, gunning for him, but doing absolutely horribly ! Couldn't hit a thing !! He said that one actually needs 2 GB RAM to really get the gameplay smooth. I have only got 786 MB, & really found it consistently jerky/difficult to aim ...

    <need to upgrade!!!>

    Bass, I like to think 2GB is bull****. I had 512, now upgraded to 1GB. The difference is, it runs smoother ingame, with minimal lag, and I can actually play assault now and get into close combat. Another difference is that while the game doesnt load faster initially, map changes are now much faster - apart from the client verification, which still takes ages. But his is good enough for me, I think 2GB is a slight overkill.

    i have been running the game with 1GB and defrag my HDD that has the TEMP graphic related files regularly ( usually the BF2 folder under MY DOCUMENTS ), this seems to help a bit during the loading moments.

    but there is no lag whatsoever during actual gameplay after the 2 mins are up.
