I have one game that required Steam to be installed - Conquest of the Americas or some such rubbish (didn't like it, played it for like 1 hour). Since then my Steam has been in offline mode...i haven't tried to activate it.

Thought it was funny but mildly infuriating how the first two goons blamed me for not being prepared. So I cut the debate right there. However, I got a bunch of replies overnight that agreed that offline mode is a problem. And not a small one.

On a side note, does anyone know how well USB Ethernet adapters or USB WLAN adapters will work with gaming, specifically games like Battlefield?
I've been using a Linksys USB600N 300Mbps adapter since I got to the mountain - works just fine. I did a bit of research before I installed Gypsy's brother's wireless network, and even though other manufacturers may produce higher throughputs when peaking, Linksys has the steadiest signal, ranking in the top three for throughput. I chose steady over the others. It also depends on your wireless router, and ours is a Linksys (when our frikkin ADSL is up ).

I told you, Rainy, I lost both my network jacks on my previous motherboard, the one Gypsy is using now. I initially installed a PCI NIC, then decided to flash my BIOS just to check, and my onboard jacks were 100% functional again. Funny that.

Stupid BF3 Sig is wrong coz I obviously travel a couple of weeks ahead of electrons.
