    Default iTunes Issues

    Hey.. After Xtr spent literally ages trying to get a .mov (Apple Quicktime 'n all) file and a presentation to work on the iPad2 through that brainless piece of software called iTunes, I can totally understand him not liking Apple in general!
    I have had similar fun trying to load .mp3 files onto a Shuffle.. Sure, sure.. it you had a Mac it would be easy I hear you say.. until that happens..

    Eh? You must be a noob. My entire music collection is mp3, and I use an ipod (touch), and my kids have shuffles. Never had issues.

    @Vortex forget Itunes, get copytrans.

    It is so easy even you could do it, and if you are struggling then just ask your kids to help.

    We need to split this into another thread, 'cause I'd like to discuss it further, but don't want to burden the Funny thread any more..

    Okay, hows about copying one file to an iPad/iPod from a different machine?? It complained about only being able to connect to one library at a time, and thus needed to delete the media currently on the iPad to copy the files we wanted to??

    Even if there is a way to make that seamless, iTunes crashed numerous times (had to start iTunes in safe mode) and normal routine stuff on the iPad is sometimes very obscure. Having used Android first I cannot help but think that there's something seriously wrong with Apple's IOS. Even when installing an app that's over 20Mb, it complained, I had to use iTunes, and then to get the bloody thing on the iPad was a mission!

    I could go on, but I won't. (fear of TL;DR responses)

    I'm not trying to badmouth Apple users, just Apple, and for the foreseeable future I would not buy an Apple product, would rather go with Android.

    No, you're quite right as far as connecting to multiple libraries is concerned. It's a major pain in the backside.

    I'm just used to the quirks of itunes - I've had ipods for many years, and couldn't really be bothered to try something else. The device itself is brilliant, but yes, there's a lot that can be said about the really shitty itunes software. It is complete bloatware, and has a built-in WTF generator.

    Winamp does and it is tons better. For example: Just this week I stuck a bunch of song onto my wifes ipod for her. She saved the ones she wanted to a playlist and then plugged it into the pc for me to erase the rest when I get home. When I checked the ipod all her playlists had been erased and all record of what songs had been played how many times. I ask her repeatedly if she might have fiddled with something. She insists that all that happened was that itunes launched when she stuck it in, so I doubt the user is to blame here.

    I personally have had a ton of problems with iTunes that would also end up being a TL;DR. The only reason I have it on my pc was because I had to do a restore on my wifes ipod a little while back. As for winamp, pure pleasure.
