    Default Cinebench (for you Jay)

CPU tests: (note AMD turbo core was disabled for all these tests)

    Stock:

With mild oc, Asus crosshair V auto OC. (not really mild IMO! 1.1ghz OC is pretty damn decent!)

    Manual OC:

    A 4.62Ghz run:

I'll try run my famous 4.8 Ghz when it's a tad cooler.

    GPU Test (cinebench opengl test)

    GPU usage:

    Score:

    *updates still coming*

I love this program, best for CPU tests by far! Nice scores there btw.

the gpu test is kinda pointless. I'm soso keen to see what this baby does at 4.8!

Just with the auto OC from the Asus board the chip blows stock settings away!
She really starts pushing some serious numbers when oc'd.
I'll book mark this post and do this again when I drop a piledriver in at the end of this year.

PPS I see the FX-8170 3900 MHz Turbo frequency 4500 MHz (Stepping C0) should be available soon. Thats two revisions more than the B2 i have.

The B3 Revision AMD made these tweaks:

    1) L1, L2 and L3 latencies
    2) Cache Thrashing Issues
    3) Modified Algorithms for Branch Prediction
    4) Healthy Bump in Processor Frequency
    5) Slight Frequency increase via NB Controller
    6) “Total Intelligent Control” For example programs and applications should look at the module design approach and the ability for the processor to intelligently turn off and/or turn on specific cores that it believes is hindering performance for maximum performance.
    7) Power will be improved
