Default The Intel Core 2 Duo

The Intel Core 2 Duo is about 30% faster than anything AMD's got out right now.

Yes, the race is on nicely again, which will only benefit us. Personally, I am happy to buy either Intel or AMD, whichever gives me best bang for my buck.

Yup, the Core 2 Duo is now top dog for sure, but by not as big a margin as what we all thought... The x6800 is the processor that 99% of these reviews used, which costs a cool R10 580.63 !!!

As with all things PC the price will come down.... remember when CD Writers first came out... they were like 6k now R199...

PS I dont expect to get a Core 2 processor for 199 anytime soon ...but still... let some other nana pay for the dev costs I say.

R10k for a consumer Processor!!! That's just absurd!

Looks like AMD64 is still a good option, with the single core 3800+ sitting at R999exVAT
