    Default NVidia nTune

    http://www.nvidia.com/object/ntune_5.00.06.06.html

    Tuning utility for nforce chipsets.

It's a system tuning utility - it can automatically over clock / analyse your system for best performance. It also offers manual tuning.

I let it run a coarse tuning on my system (+/- 20 mins) and it boosted the system FSB by 14% from 201Mhz to 230Mhz. It also boosted the PCIe bus by 11% from 2575Mhz to 2875Mhz.

If you allow it to 'fine tune' your system (for 3 hours), it looks like it will also tweak your GPU settings as well, and possibly memory timings.

The hassle is that you will have to baby sit your system while it's doing the tuning so that you can reboot / relogin if it hangs or restarts your system.

Well, it's definitely made a different to the CPU performance:

    Sisoft Sandra:

    Cpu Arithmetic:

    Before:
    Dhrystone ALU 9204 MIPS
    Whetstone FPU/iSSE2 3135/4094 MFLOPS

    After:
    Dhrystone ALU 9417 MIPS
    Whetstone FPU/iSSE2 3211/4189 MFLOPS

    Multimedia Benchmark:

    Before:
    Integer x4 aEMMX/aSSE 18955 it/s
    Floating-Point iSSE2 20378 it/s

    After:
    Integer x4 aEMMX/aSSE 19411 it/s
    Floating-Point iSSE2 20876 it/s

but how much does all that tweaking affect games in reality? 1-2 FPS?

i found newer video/mobo drivers to make the best performance gains lately.
