all someone has to do is write a fake "vga " driver... and that driver will obviously be fed the data anyway... so in the end we will have a "vga to file" encoder.

i wish to play the video on my 2nd "adaptor"

Good idea, but won't signed HDMI devices beat that?

i dont know if the signed stuff comes into play on a pc! but even so.. i dont think it will be very hard to emaulate a signed device!

and from what i can remember that whole signed thing with this stuff is pretty basic

the signing works between 2 device so that a 3rd cannot interfere.... but if YOU ARE the 2nd device, then yay!

Way outa my depth here, but I imagine even just running fraps (does it rip stuff straight out the frame buffer?) you might be able to intercept the decoded stream.

well if it eventually ends up being drawn by directdraw... i presume it would be possible, however i spose directdraw will end up being HDMI compliant for this reason.. then 2ndly... we will end up trying to capture 1920 x 1600 or whatever the insane res is anyway.. so we will need some megacomputer.

best thing to do is be able to break the encryption on the disk and proceed from there rather than this video grab stuff!
