Default Which music floats your boat?

They say you can tell a lot about the personality of people from their musical taste. So here goes: what music person are you?

Personally, I couldn't live without music. With a collection of about 300 CDs sometimes it's hard to choose. My taste is very broad, but I am a particular sucker for Progressive Rock and Metal, examples are Fates Warning, Dream Theater, Threshold, Marillion, Arena, Spock's Beard... Some extreme metal wanders around in my collection as well, favourites are Kreator and Samael. Other faves are U2, Peter Gabriel, Seal, Tangerine Dream and my all-time hero group New Model Army.

Big no-no's in terms of music are: Hip Hop, Classical music and most mainstream pop. Which is why I hardly ever listen to the radio...

Currently being assimilated by Seether and loving it.

I'll take any music any time if it suits the purpose, Trance, Rave, Dance, Sokkie, ChaCha, Waltz, Rock, Grunge, Metal, Heavy Metal, Pop, Hip Hop, Square Dancing ...

Play the music for the mood for the party for the win !

I've got about 94 playlists and I can take a small crowd from bored to party to relaxed and conversational to ok-go home now mkay.

    Old - time classics:
    Depeche-Mode [The singles ONLY]
    U2 [oldschool stuff only]
    Big Country
    G&R
    Nirvana
    Metallica
    ..stopping here

Newer stuff ... nevermind ... this list changes daily.

i enjoy music from different genres but dont like most R&B and Rap, only a few Eminememinememinememinem songs are of my liking.

but lately its like most people are not writing anything new... its all rehashes of older songs or cover versions... there seems to be a stale taste in the industry and the word "Baby" is also in almost every single song now. Yikes!

    old time favs :

    - Aqua ( yeah, shoot me )
    - Ace of Base
    - Blur
    - Rammstein
    - U2 ( older songs )
    - Metallica ( older songs again, new album blew chunks )
    - Evanescence

I've got eclectic tastes... however my all time favourite bunch at the moment is Linkin Park.

My other hobby other than BF2 is drumming. I can actually play something else other than the fool. Consequently I'm a great fan of rock. Although stuff thats too heavy doesnt grab cause a) I know how much work the drummer does (I'm Lazy!!!) and b) they often muck about with the drumming and mix drum machine loops into the track.
Not fond of remixed party pounders and don't ever hand me rap its cr@p

    Favs
    U2
    Sting
Men at Work (I learnt to drum with 'Down Under' its got a soft spot ok)
    Counting Crows
    Nickelback
    Rubber lips (Rolling Stones)
    ZZ Top
Phil Collins (Have you seen that guy drum!)
Rush (Its old but Neil Peart on the drums... jeepers... I got a clip I could send to those interested)
    Jimmy Eat World
    Cold Play
    Blink 182
    Vertical Horizon
    The Smashing Pumpkins
    American Hi Fi
    Eagle Eye Cherry
    Crowded House
    Eurythmics / Annie Lennox
    Goo goo Dolls
    Dire Straits
    The Offspring
Al Jankovic (did some classic rip offs. Rip offs have a special place. I got a couple that 5FM put together a few years back, Album was called 'Yard sale 15 years of Cr@p'. "Which Backstreet Boy is Gay" will always put a smile on yer face.)
    Beastie Boys
