Default Does telkom cap u or not...

I've heard so many times about ppl who go over there cap limit (3gb cap in this case) and don't get capped! Is this true and if it is then why do the other isp cap u?!

I have consistently gone over my alloted 3 Gigs for the last 6 months. I am now on 5,2 Gigs. Mostly I go over by 2-3 gigs a month and have never been capped. You take your chances but it would seem that with Telkom ISP you will get more that 3 Gigs whereas others will cut you on 3 Gigs

look , most ISP buy from telkom, so they cant afford to let you off caps, telkom controls all the bandwidth...

they do what they want, they have some sort of system, where by if the average user base reaches a cap, those who exceed their cap get HARD capped. or they have made a mistake with the capping system.

at least thats what i acn figure, this might only apply to people who have premium acounts or somthing like that

i have 2 premium accounts such that i am unshapped ect, they are 'capped' at 3 gig, and if i go over i get slow local, but as it seems at the moment no capping is ahppening, and has eben so for the whole year now....

There is a certain capacity of bandwidth. If this starts getting to be exceeded, all those over 3G will get soft-capped. (Softcapped: you can still access the internet but at dial-up speed) The other ISPs, as far as I'm concerned, want your money: If you want more than your 3G, you have to pay. That why you get hard-capped. (Hard-capped: Absolutely NO access to the internet, not even to get your mails.)
Hard to believe from Telkom but the facts speak for themselves...

So if one is with telkom as an isp and go over 3G then do u pay for how much you have gone over 3G? (Taking imaginet as an example u pay R6 for 100mb after going over ur cap)
