    Default BF2142 first impressions

i load the game up start it...

my bf2142 crash... directx ... (crash 1)so after updating my directx

i run bf2142, cant seem to sue my old account yet tho, is annoying

    comments on the game:

they have done a good job in reducing the load times, and the genral speedyness of it all.

the new menu system looks cool, and handles nice.

in game the titan mode, while there were not alot of guys playing and of course all figuring stuff out, the game play was a bit slow, but every so often we got into the swing of things, and man it was enjoyable.

alll the vehciles in t2142 have atleast like 2 guns on them when a server is full i forsee, ALOT of fire and tracer rounds ect flying every where.

The walker is sweet it has a maion drievr and its 2nd gunner has a machine gun/anti air ability... you can also make it sprint.

"choppers" are alot diff now they all like kaluladotcom.... now anyone can fly

the studip demo does not have any unlocks tho, and this makes me cry. it means the starting options are pretty miserable, you caxn have 1 of 4 guns and heavey armour if you choose (makes you run less)

things i liked from the demo:

your view screens in diff tanks/walkers/ect are digital and your helmet screen is digital, and you get distortions some time which look cool.

no more arty, there is now a EMP arty... which is not delayed, so you call it in and it arrives then and there almost.

i think some of the models are hot looking

    dislikes:

i crashed 4 times and had 2 disconnect issues....

although it seems that that was because i set my specs up to very high

I hear it takes the same sys resources as BF2.. Does that mean I can play it w/out upgrading?

The rest actually sounds pretty cool... not too sure about it yet, but mebbe

Already gone and done the changes to avoid having to using a button to talk. BTW it is V to teamies and B to commander. Oh, and the parachute is on the space bar

If you're going through hell, keep moving.

Parachute works. Sniping is interesting because when you breathe the barrel drifts off target - actually all guns like that. So I suppose dolphin divers can do their thing but will miss a lot.

Most interesting stuff...was totally lost for the first round or two but now I am getting the hang of it and I like it. My chief gripe would be that the feedback on hitting the guy you are aiming at is a bit iffy...maybe I just have to get used to it, but I can never figure out if I am hitting someone or firing over thier heads.

Resource wise it seems to be lighter than BF2 actually...which is really good news..my old machine has no probs running it.

The parachute was an interesting change...you don't always need it....when you leave the transport ships you are actually encased in a pod of sorts and you just go crashing to the ground (then spend 3 minutes trying to make head or tail of where you are and what direction you're facing) and ready to be killed by some sod who was lucky enough to spawn behind you...cause NOBODY knows where the spawn points are!

The whole mobile spawn point for transports is really brilliant...as soon as people learn to use it tactically.

Vehicles generally suck though...my tank is ineffectual against infantry and the apc is useless againt other armour...only versatile ground vehicle is the walker except that its a HUGE target....

What I do like now the most is that unlocks become mission critical...ranking up is going to be really worth it and I can see the forums going wild wih people discussing which unlock is best....the default weapons really suck.

Spendt about an hour on it and left as confused as when I started. Being outside armour is seriously detremental to your health.

Did not notice much difference in the uniforms. Suspect I'm going to TK a lot!?

Really liked the concept of the Titans, though.

lol unifroms are black or grey

um yeah alot of the things YOU NEEED SQUAD MEMJBERS WITH YOU

ie the tank doesnt have machine gun , only if there is a 2nd guy init

walker is AWESOME but you need a 2nd guy to man the anti air the wlker has

apc is cool, but again the 2nd guy has emp shots

    ect ect
