What do you think of Special Forces?

I've just installed SF, and had my first online game with it.
It's... a bit different.

Now I have absolutely no idea what to expect.

Tried it a bit last night, only plyed on one map...no one on the server...will play this week and i've got a view ....

btw what is shizznitz!! Sounds like something that happens when you drive with geek in an explosive laden buggy!!!

Played 3 maps last night...one night map, one map with UK & Russians (day) and a map on a aircraft craft carrier.

It is VERY different.

- I am not to crazy about the night maps (very dark...lol)
- Lots of very close areas..very urban
- New vehicles.....fun to drive but tricky
- Flags on top of buildings..very tricky

Only just unlocked 3 weapons after i finished playing..so no view on these yet!

I think SF will be fun...need more players on the servers...hint.....hint

You'll find your unlocks only really on the SAS (etc) teams. Very weird.

Anyway, I was playing as assault class last night (got veteran woo!), using the SCAR gun - holy crap, I was killing left, right, and center! I love that gun!

Very accurate - took guys out at long distance with only a couple of shots. Brilliant stuff. Even got a silver out of it.

Blokes - please please please excuse my ignorance here - but how in the heck do you play SF ?
When I attempt to join a server, it loads the map - goes all the way - click on Join and I get the error that my version of the game is too high and I should revert back to the version before mylatest upgrade. I installed the 1.12 patch and that's all.

Full history :
1 - Bought BF2.
2 - Installed it.
3 - Patch one.
4 - Patch two.
5 - Patch 1.12.
6 - Installed SF.
7 - Patch 1.12 again.
Problem when joining.
Sigh.

How did you'all get this thing to work ?

Quickest way is to uninstall everything, delete the old battlefield2 program folder (backup your My Docs\Bf2\Profiles folder - and any screenshots if you have).

Then install BF2. Install SF. Patch w/ 1.12

I had basically done what you did, and the game gave me endless hassles untill I reinstalled.
