Default The pride of your game collection

In the years that I have been gaming, I have gathered a few items that are the pride and joy of my game collection, and which I wouldn't give away for all the money in the world.

(Well, maybe for all the money in the world, I mean, everyone has a price... but I won't budge for any less than that )

Because I like boasting, here we go:

    - Warcraft 3 Collector's Edition. Nice box set with a bonus DVD, a book called "The Art of Warcraft" and a soundtrack CD, among other gadgets
    - Morrowind Collector's Edition. Same thing basically, also got an artwork book and a soundtrack CD, plus a little metal figurine
    - Gabriel Knight Mysteries Collector's edition: the full monty of GK1 and GK2, plus another soundtrack CD and the printed novel "Sins of the Fathers"
    - the full Discworld collection in original boxes
    - the last 3 Tex Murphy games

    And how about you?

King King, Collectors Edition. The finest packaging I have ever seen in a game, plus bonus DVD. Also GTA:San Andreas was very nicely done. I like a clean polished product!

Ive only ever bought ONE game (thought I have the rest of them now). There can be only ONE game. Battlefield 2!!!!

Im also playing F.E.A.R at the moment, but I scream like a girl at all the scary bits, which in that game, is like all the time.

Slappy, yeah, that King Kong metal box is spiffy. I don't like the game though

With King Kong though, I dont think it was ever meant to be a "game" in the true sense of the word. They pushed the theatrical edge very hard. I think they achieved what they were looking for....but like you say, strange game.

One thing I have realised, is that publisher are putting less and less effort into their jobs and are relying more and more on the hype surrounding the game to sell it. Look at Half-Life 2 (standard). All I got was a crappy cardboard box, and a slip of paper telling me what buttons to push. To add insult to injury, I couldn't even play the game for 2 months because of stupid downloads (My ADSL was a distant dream back then). I mean who the hell release a product that is only 75% complete anyway...I digress.

half-life 2 was a game??? didnt notice... i thought it was a engine demo...

    on the topic :

Still having the original Civilization on its 5.25" diskettes and the THICK manual is quite a treat... and Civ IV somehow also managed to get one of the best manuals from most recent games ever.

You guys seen that UBER Civ IV pack. The box is HUGE. If I was a homeless dude, I would buy it for my house if not only for its asthetic appeal.
