    Default Board gaming...NO patches required!!!

I've been a keen board gamer (Avalon Hill etc) since I was a teen (Loooooooooong agooooooooo), and play games via e-mail on various sites. Nothing, however, has rekindled my passion for these old timers like the new 1.2 patch!!!!! No patch required with cardboard....

This is not true. Many board games have had updated rules released. Puerto Rico, one of the best rated board games, has even had a set of additional counters released. So we have had updates and expansions for board games - what is true is the fundamental game mechanics, such as rolling a dice, have not become buggy or suffered from lag.

Me monopoly board had to be upgraded after a couple of street names became so worn that we had to use the box top picture to solve arguments about which street was which.

And then ... the blerry manufacturers insisted that we buy a complete new set, and then the new set is all Southafricananised and the dog keeps falling on it's nose cos it's tail is too short.

    Blerry upgrades !!!

Right, I've been pretty damned patient waiting for a response!
I'm guessing that the answer is no!

Played Squad Leader. ASL just got too damn expensive. And the local distributor of the games is a bit of a gouger.

If you're going through hell, keep moving.

What's a "gouger" in this context?

(Only know the word when used to e.g. "gouge someone's eye out")

I'm currently buying a lot of games direct from the publishers and, with customs duties etc, it STILL works out cheaper than buying them locally! ASL is a pig, so I've moved on to the Panzer Grenadier series. Far more flexible and fun, without losing realism.
