Diablo & WoW movies in production

BlizzPlanet has the scoop that movie adaptations of Blizzard's hack-n-slash flavored rpg, Diablo and massively multiplayer game, World of WarCraft are currently in production. A studio called Legendary Pictures (who most recently released "300") has the honors. They're also doing a remake of "Clash of the Titans" too. That's some fantasy trifecta.

Asem, could be verrry cool... but Blizzard can just as well go ahead and make the movies on their own, the FMV's in their games are still some of the best Ive ever seen, imagine a whole movie like that!

It would look good ( the movie, not Noodle's pants ) but it would take a while to create such top-notch animations on our PCs... but it WOULD be loooovely.

I don't know. I'd rather they grab games with an actual storyline. I think a movie based on Thief could be awesome if the right people had to make it, and pour in the right amount of artistic license. Deus Ex, the NOLF games, Gothic or Splinter Cell are also candidates that come to mind. I could even imagine a movie based on C&C, Freelancer or the Broken Sword games. But Diablo or WoW? Not sure at all.

Nonetheless, you have to admit that the Diablo 2 storyline in particular was REALLY hectic, with the wanderer and baal and vibes. can I get a w00t for Diablo!
