I can remember from my visits to the states. The conversation normally went like this ...

American: Your accent is different?
Me: Yes, I am not American
American: Where you from?
Me: I am from South Africa
American: Uh ... where is South Africa?
Me: It is the country right at the bottom tip of the African continent
American: mmmhhh? ... where is Africa?
Me: It is that land-mass below Europe
I normally stopped there cause the glazed look in their eyes was not really helping the conversation further.

If the conversation did continue, it was normally followed by questions such as:
** Do you have cars there? or;
** Do you have wild animals walking around in your village

... we like movies, cause the aliens will always invade the USA first BUT what will the perception be of Mankind? Might be a clue as to why they (the aliens) dont visit us anymore?
