Default To Be Nice or to Be Not Nice

Last night on Machur city, i'm MEC, we've got one flag left. The HILL. Humvee by the arty shredding us, humvee and a vodnic on both inbound roads from the bottom shredding us.

I'm sniper tried to get a shot at the gunners , got one and he was replaced a second later I died. Tried again, died. Only good place to go is up the side ladder to the roof, at least from there ill have a better shot at the gunners.

Get half way up the ladder, commander and other guy is just sitting there, sitting ducks. I decide , hummm I’m not going to be cannon fodder here so up I go, get to the top of the ladder, bam, TK, Claymore.

    I push page up naturally.

Respawn try the other ladder, damm humvee still at artie. I die. Spawn again thinking well I already killed the claymore. Commander is still halfway up the ladder. He's now got two buddy’s and someone's kit lying there, got shot obviously. I go up ladder. BAM. Darn claymore again, same asshole.

I press PAGE DOWN. I lost it. So the asshole initiates a kick vote against me. So I join his squad and have a go at him. He recons it’s okay to claymore your own friendly flag and he had quite an attitude about it. My problem with it is he's blocking access to everyone at the one and only flag remaining for us and let us be ripped apart.

I had a good go at him, not very gentlemanly, my mood was neither.

So pretty soon after many oaks started kick votes against him.

Now my question is, is it right of me to have a go at him, I thought that someone needs to have a quick chat to this bloke maybe we'll have a shot at it then. What your views?

Claymores are a sensitive issue. I sometimes get pissed when team snipers claymore all the good vantage points on a map. Personally, if I am on a roof with several levels, or on a crane, I usually claymore the highest possible point, so at least other guys can still get into a position slightly below mine. I don't go without claymores because of all them knifers. With a clymore at least you have a warning and can either stalk the access point or simply fusk off.

If someone uses claymores like you described, at some stage that deserves some kind of going at. It's strategically not very wise to hamper your teammates in a situation like this. Once can be given the benefit of doubt, but if it happens twice or even more than that, something is not right. People can make mistakes, but if they have an attitude about it, I can get very pesky as well. I think you were right in what you did. Who was the bloke? Someone we know?

I think snipers have the right to cover their arses, BUT, common sense should prevail above all else, if team is in a tight spot, like it sounds u were, and the guy wasnt using the grey matter available to him, then I think I'd have had a go at him aswell, might have used different words tho

I'd say it's a bit of a grey area, but I'm with 5L on this one.

While it's natural that he want's to protect his bum, to do it on the only decent spot at the last flag is a bit unfair, but I wouldn't necessarily consider him evil for it. The kick vote yes, that's just daft.

Name and shame, we can all knife him later

Hmmm - saw that whole episode from the other side. The guy obviously had a problem in that he initiated the first kick vote against WAJ when punished. In this case I would have done what WAJ did - join his squad and ask what the problem is ... then explain how he is ruining the game for his teammates IF he went back and placed more claymores after getting his first TK.

I am probably a more placid guy than WAJ (), so from there would have probably just tried to get away from that spawnpoint & headed off on my own mission if the guy couldn't understand why what he was doing was bad for his team.

In this case he was fairly obviously making it unpleasant for his own team members.

It's much the same as laying mines - don't mine all the exits to your only remaining flag - you will get punished quite justifiably ...

The guy is one of the O8???, dunno that funny damn clan name. The guy is DON????, cant remember. Think it is 8or9 clan, will look out for the ass today and post his nick here. Seems that a lot of players on the server has a problem with that particular individual. I've played with other members of that clan in a squad before and ofen do. They are good oaks and fun to play with and against.

You were well within your rights and once should have been enough.
I bet he never apologised for the first claymore, never mind the second.
