Basic premise - virus wipes out 90% of humankind. 1% are immune, the other 9% turn into beasts that eat the remaining 1%.

Will Smith is last survivor in New York.

I thought his performance was stellar but not quite as good as Tom Hanks in Castaway. But then Tom Hanks didn't have things trying to eat him every night.

Story line is pretty basic but there are a few points that are left unexplored. Prime amongst these is the view that the Darkseekers have completely devolved but they start demonstrating higher levels of intelligence. I suppose that you are supposed to be left with something to think about.

If there is a message it is an interesting one particularly as the Golden Compass is also around. Should you be vacinated?

I haven't watched a good horror like this in a long time.
Very well done! I thought.

Not at all a "pick me up" type movie.

I thought it was done very well.

No super heroic scenes ... alot of tense moments and breathtaking scenes.

Alot of the movie's emotional aspects were unlike alot of the ones you find in typical hero-gets-the-girl-in-the-end type of movies.

the ending to me was also done quite well. Although many would disagree. It's a good watch.

Watched this last night.

Pretty good movie, I did have higher expectations for it, but by no means was I disappointed. I like the choice made on how to tell the back story, I have seen it done in a few other movies as well, but heck if it works why change it.

Will did a good job in this and really played the part well, even how attached he was to Sam. (no I'm not saying anything that will spoil the movie, watch it and find out for yourself

)

For me it was just bits thrown together. A bit of science, a bit of action, a bit of crying, a bit of he is going crazy so ja it was okay. The sound was WAY to loud thou! Gunshots sounds like cannons.
