    Default Alvin and the Chipmunks

Cute movie about, well, chipmunks who can talk and sing.

Pretty funny and appeals to all ages.

Lead actor is Jason Lee - My Name is Earl

Albers, why don't you rate them while you're at it, please?
Would you say Alvin blah blah blah is suitable for all ages or just a kiddies movie? (Obvious, i know, but i have to ask, you never know)

That's why I had this bit:

Pretty funny and appeals to all ages

But I need to be mindful about giving too much away - not that there is really a plot in this movie. Hopefully it'll start some discussion.

I think it comes from having school holidays that are way too long.

The deep message is about the dangers of deforestation and the lure of filthy lucre. It is about family and the need to embrace our responsibilities. It is about child exploitation and the dangers of excess.

There is also a strong message about saving for a rainy day. Ironically, the main character tells the chipmunks that they don't need to horde food but puts their earnings into savings bonds. And the chipmunks, who want to save are less than impressed with the savings.

    Oh, and squirrels can't sing.
