    Default Noisy ADSL

I have crackling on my phone line which is causing my ADSL to reset every couple of minutes -- very annoying.

I obviously can't play because of this.

I was sitting on hold with Telkom for 18 minutes just now before I gave up.

    Trying again.

Ok, this really pisses me off.

I was on hold for 16 minutes when Telkom cut me off.

An additional 18 minutes before I finally finished logging the call.
    Yeesh.

And of course, while I'm speaking to the guy complaining of crackling on the line, the line is crystal clear. Go figure.

    Just me.

But it seems better now. Maybe they fixed it, or the joints dried out or something

I started experiencing disconnections again this morning - I've had about 14 so far (compared to 43 on monday, it's not too bad). So I phoned the ADSL faults to check up on the call I logged, all the while with the line crackling in my ear.

They tell me the line tested fine. Riiight. Of course an end-to-end test will be fine. It's the freaking quality that's the problem!

So they offered to send a tech. "Sir, I'll put it in the queue, but I have no idea when a tech will get to you". Right. Typical. Best effort shmeffort.

To my surprise, I just received a call from a tech, he'll be here a bit later to check up on the problem.

(Guaranteed they will blame my equipment, cuz it's not the macaroni shite!)
