After my vista trial period expired I try to run my Call of Duty 4 file in Windows XP which it worked but all my Stats are gone.
My profile and stuff is there but it reseted my Stats
Now I have to do it all over again. { I was a 2 star General }

well the thing now is that you shoulda backed it up. its tied to your cdkey, so folks: if you back up your stats now and again and then keep your same cdkey, then overwrite it w/the backups when things go bad, it SHOULD work.
Hmmm .... Perhaps the stats are stored locally and encrypted using your CD key and another undefined key. If you try to use your stats with a different CD key, it won't be able to unencrypt your stats.
The same thing happend to me. Thats why we don't play silly games where we are incharge of our own stats, unlike Bf might I add. BF FTW!!!
i didn't install it again.
Its the COD4 that I ran in Vista. The user profile is in the installed directory so its not like it sits in ur my documents or somewhere like that. The way I see it ur user stats is kept with ur user profile stuff. U can even lv up by not being online and only playing multiplayer offline. So its not kept like Battlefield.
Have you come right Veer? I had to do a full reinstall of my Vista last week. I copied the entire players folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\players) not just the specific profile and mine is running as before, no probs. Maybe that could help the cause
It reminds me of this one time i hit a major lag spike in WoW and it disconnected me, it happened every 5 minutes and i lost everything!
No, i'm only kidding, never lost stats on WoW!![]()
