Cvar errors

Just a quick note. I dont know why, what or how but peeps have been getting Cvar errors (I have no idea what this is) on SGS servers (if not elsewhere). The result is getting kicked by punkbuster for 2 minutes and then a broken coffee mug against the opposite wall after a bit of moerstrip.

If you pick up this error here's the fix

Whilst ingame go into your console

and type: /rate 15000
and enter

I have no freaking clue what this does (if someone with brains could please explain that would be nice) but it prevents further moerstrips, so thats cool

The COD3 server had this too, but there was a warning on join that you had to change it to match.

It effects the communication speed with the server. Not sure what the point is with changing it down though.

The evol cvar hit me when I tried COD4 again for the first time in a while.

First was the cvar rate problem.

Well I went to try this and found I couldn't open the damned consol in the game. The "~" key didn't seem to be working. It took me quite a bit of googling and frothing at the mouth to determine that I have to activate the consol in the game options menu

Then I had a series of texturing and detailing cvar kicks. Essentially the game was complaining because I see less bushes and stuff than the poor guys hiding behind the stuff.

Had to edit the config file under players in the COD4 folder. setting all values to "1:

Now I can play bling wars again! BLING IT AWN!

Yeah those are extra things they have brought in since. I haven't come across those kicks due to my graphics being set high.

It all basically comes down to the fact that people have deliberately set their graphics too low causing terrain to be flattened (bushes, grass, shrubs) etc etc. SOOO the poor sod that has found a nice bush to hide behind and is sneakily waiting for mister 1337 to come along so he can "punch him in the panties"TM actually just looks like a chop crouching on concrete! End results he gets owned without knowing why his sniper suit isn't helping.

You'll be surprised how many of the super awesome "I kill you forty times in one round" players aren't so hot anymore now that the playing fields have been levelled ... (excuse the pun)
