    Default Factions: first impressions

Well, I played the head-start event last night for about 3 hours. Managed to get myself one of them Tengu Masks - they are ugly and useless

First thing I thought was: eye-candy. Cantha looks really good, they put a lot of effort in. See the attached screen, that's just one of the really nice views I have already seen.

I started an Assassin, but the game gets difficult very quick. Maybe I was just impatient and tried quests too hard for me, but whenever I run into a bunch of those Crimson Skull somethings, they maul me in about 10 seconds flat. Eventually I moved my Ranger to Cantha to get those Naga quests done.

Made almost 7k from excess fangs that I had - the Naga cave in which you do the 100 fangs quest is ideal for farming. Whenever you go back there you will find the same seven or so groups of Naga in the cave, and you walk out there with at least 20 fangs. Add to that the odd Naga groups you find along the way (outside that village), and you can make a fortune as long as the head start lasts and people don't figure out how easy it is.

Looks like a nice game. Might do some more fang farming tonight - the money can be put to good use for my Ranger. Not sure about the Assassin yet, it is an interesting class, but somehow I feel the urge to finish the Prophecies Campaign first...

    Here's the screenie I promised:

I made about 100k lastnigt selling fangs to unsuspecting passers by. at 60 gold per fang.

So in total I must have gotten 1700 fangs. I heard that there were people that made well over 400k in the past 24hours.

And I also started a assasin this morning, So I will be lookin gat doing some quests qith you guys if you are able.

Well, I didn't do the hardcore farming, didn't have the time. But fetching some extra gold or platinum can't hurt, I need some better armor for my Ranger

I think the game is a whole heap better than the first but probably not for you die-hards. Sure the setting looks awesome but I think the real benefit has been in getting new players started. It is a lot more helpful than the original.

I am not sure on this whole assassin thing. For some reason the henchmen are quite keen to let you go first and you are not really sneaking anywhere. Maybe it is the way I play. I don't have a problem with the Crimson Skulls, but the naga in the cave snot me plenty. I've taken done a few of those tough dudes there was a Level 14 crimson skull type that thought he was tough. Got the warrior henchman to go to to toe while I through daggers and followed up with fox fangs and double strike. Not the easiest at -60% penalty.

But I plan to get better.

    World looks lovely.

If you're going through hell, keep moving.

I don't know what the problem was in the first game. I got started easily. The only difference I see is that you get these tablets of wisdom, which tell you about some ingame mechanics. Other than that, both games are quite similar as far as the getting started goes...

I think playing a new class will take getting used to, But having said that. If you play 6 differant chars with totally diff builds on them you will soon get used to doing it.

I have a friend that got to level 16 yesterday playing a assasin, And he agrees that the game is great but there needs to be a lil slower leveling in the 'pre-searing' area of the game.

I will post feedback on how i fare here for you guys.

Rainy - I've made level 12 just doing the training missions.

Yeah, that's pretty much possible. I skipped the Day of the Naga missions with my assassin, so I am only Lvl10 after training...
