Dear WoW Geeks
I hope you've all read TG's post in the announcement thread (check it out here, it's important, read it! http://www.wargeeks.org/showthread.php?t=8288).
Well, MMORPGs - Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games, or as I like to call it Many Men Online Role Playing Girls are causing a bit of strife. We've seen what Guild Wars did to the community and now WoW has managed to do the same. I am not going to go into the details, because to be honest, it is painful for me, it is painful for you, and 30 different people have 30 different stories and reasons and the kicker is, they are all different.
So what can we do? Well, we've committed ourselves to change (Remember this thread: http://www.wargeeks.org/showthread.php?t=8264). And that change isn't just a flowery, emotional speeches and posts, that change has finally translated into action. If you've read TG's post (remember that link up there?) you know now what the actions are.
I'm here to tell you what it means for you, the WoWers, and I think this next bit is pretty important, so please read it carefully:
1. Guild leadership
As you know, we are no longer supporting MMORPGs, so the council will have absolutely no influence in the game leadership et al going forward. It is up to the WoW players to nominate who will be the guild leader and who will be the guild officers. Once the nominations are in, the players will vote and take it from there.
2. Formation of a New guild
Ok, so now you have new leadership, you have decided who the new guild leader is going to be, now you need to come up with a new name and form a new guild and get all y'all into that guild. The leaders will be responsible for the administration of that guild, so it's up to them to buy a new guild bank et al. We have decided to split the current guild bank contents with Ire Infernus, so we will be announcing a fire sale and allow you to buy what you want at a seriously reduced cost, then we will split the gold. The new guild will use that gold to buy the GB and the amount of tabs it needs and then put the rest of the gold into the GB, well actually, I say this, but it will ultimately be up to the new guild's leadership to do what they want.
3. The forums
We will be closing the private WoW forums. The public forums will remain, but the council will have absolutely no control over management decisions made by the new officers. The council's role will be to keep the peace in the threads, but I think that THAT is a worry for later, since we are all committed to peace, committed to change, and I think our commitment will grease the wheels for rebuilding a great guild. However, that guild will have absolutely NO affiliation with the WrG or WarGeek brand.
4. Conflict resolution
It's blatantly obvious that it's not possible to keep all the people happy all the time. But with the split of the guild with members moving to Ire Infernus and the solid WrGs with different gaming ideals, I think (for now at least) the mindset of the current members are all the same and they currently have the same ideals and goals. However (comma) this might change. Scratch that it WILL change and folks WILL fight again. It's inevitable.
It is now in the hands of the guild to peacefully and amicably resolve their issues. It is not up to the council or clan to resolve your issues. If fights or verbal abuse spill over into the forums, we WILL issue hour and day bans, or worse, if necessary. It's not a threat, it's a promise but again I want to emphasise that such an approach would be a last resort.
After the new guild is formed and its new officers appointed, the flow will continue. If officers want to canvas new guild members, they are free to do so, seeing as the humble school boy approach only got us so far. We want action, we want leaders, but moreover, we want satisfaction so if you want to be an officer and canvas a bit, and make some campaign promises, feel free to do so, I think it could be highly entertaining and fun to watch, but it will also show the fellow guildies nominating you that you are serious for the task. Remember, once guild leadership is chosen, that's that, and it's up to the standalone guild to manage themselves, and that, my friends, is a scary thought.
Our ultimate goal and focus is two-fold, and that ultimate goal and focus will be ongoing:
1. The goal is peace, attaining it and keeping it.
2. The focus is the community not the games that it plays, but it's members our friends.
So far I've used the garden metaphor so I guess my final question should be: Can you dig it?
Please note - some of you may NOT want to do this. That's fine. You're fully entitled to do what you want to do. This whole thing is merely a suggestion as a way forward. If you would rather move to a different guild, please do so. Just bear in mind that sooner or later, the WrG guild as it stands will be /gdisbanded.
This is what we've decided and we are taking action!
Questions/Comments my darlings?
We are here to answer them.

Lets give this some proper thought ladies, RP servers and all

Remember, like I said in the announcement, just because a council member may have a leadership position in an in-game guild, does not mean it has anything to do with the clan. Although that may be difficult for people to separate.
