Arrow RESET! Time for action! (All WoWers, please read)

    Dear WoW Geeks

I hope you've all read TG's post in the announcement thread (check it out here, it's important, read it! http://www.wargeeks.org/showthread.php?t=8288).
Well, MMORPGs - Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games, or as I like to call it Many Men Online Role Playing Girls – are causing a bit of strife. We've seen what Guild Wars did to the community and now WoW has managed to do the same. I am not going to go into the details, because to be honest, it is painful for me, it is painful for you, and 30 different people have 30 different stories and reasons and the kicker is, they are all different.

So what can we do? Well, we've committed ourselves to change (Remember this thread: http://www.wargeeks.org/showthread.php?t=8264). And that change isn't just a flowery, emotional speeches and posts, that change has finally translated into action. If you've read TG's post (remember that link up there?) you know now what the actions are.

I'm here to tell you what it means for you, the WoWers, and I think this next bit is pretty important, so please read it carefully:

    1. Guild leadership
As you know, we are no longer supporting MMORPGs, so the council will have absolutely no influence in the game leadership et al going forward. It is up to the WoW players to nominate who will be the guild leader and who will be the guild officers. Once the nominations are in, the players will vote and take it from there.

    2. Formation of a New guild
Ok, so now you have new leadership, you have decided who the new guild leader is going to be, now you need to come up with a new name and form a new guild and get all y'all into that guild. The leaders will be responsible for the administration of that guild, so it's up to them to buy a new guild bank et al. We have decided to split the current guild bank contents with Ire Infernus, so we will be announcing a fire sale and allow you to buy what you want at a seriously reduced cost, then we will split the gold. The new guild will use that gold to buy the GB and the amount of tabs it needs and then put the rest of the gold into the GB, well… actually, I say this, but it will ultimately be up to the new guild's leadership to do what they want.

    3. The forums
We will be closing the private WoW forums. The public forums will remain, but the council will have absolutely no control over management decisions made by the new officers. The council's role will be to keep the peace in the threads, but I think that THAT is a worry for later, since we are all committed to peace, committed to change, and I think our commitment will grease the wheels for rebuilding a great guild. However, that guild will have absolutely NO affiliation with the WrG or WarGeek brand.

    4. Conflict resolution
It's blatantly obvious that it's not possible to keep all the people happy all the time. But with the split of the guild with members moving to Ire Infernus and the solid WrGs with different gaming ideals, I think (for now at least) the mindset of the current members are all the same and they currently have the same ideals and goals. However (comma) this might change. Scratch that – it WILL change and folks WILL fight again. It's inevitable.
It is now in the hands of the guild to peacefully and amicably resolve their issues. It is not up to the council or clan to resolve your issues. If fights or verbal abuse spill over into the forums, we WILL issue hour and day bans, or worse, if necessary. It's not a threat, it's a promise – but again I want to emphasise that such an approach would be a last resort.

After the new guild is formed and its new officers appointed, the flow will continue. If officers want to canvas new guild members, they are free to do so, seeing as the humble school boy approach only got us so far. We want action, we want leaders, but moreover, we want satisfaction – so if you want to be an officer and canvas a bit, and make some campaign promises, feel free to do so, I think it could be highly entertaining and fun to watch, but it will also show the fellow guildies nominating you that you are serious for the task. Remember, once guild leadership is chosen, that's that, and it's up to the standalone guild to manage themselves, and that, my friends, is a scary thought.

Our ultimate goal and focus is two-fold, and that ultimate goal and focus will be ongoing:
    1. The goal is peace, attaining it and keeping it.
    2. The focus is the community – not the games that it plays, but it's members – our friends.

So far I've used the garden metaphor – so I guess my final question should be: Can you dig it?

Please note - some of you may NOT want to do this. That's fine. You're fully entitled to do what you want to do. This whole thing is merely a suggestion as a way forward. If you would rather move to a different guild, please do so. Just bear in mind that sooner or later, the WrG guild as it stands will be /gdisbanded.

This is what we've decided and we are taking action!

Congratulations on this rather bold move. I'm willing to bet that you are going to pick up grief for this from some quarters Blinks but I support you 100% if that is of any value.

    1. Is it possible to define the role/daily tasks of the guild officers?

    2. As far as guild leader is concerned, you da man

    3. Can you give us an idea of the cost of setting up the guild bank, because heres a suggestion. We are splitting the spoils down the middle with Infernus right. I'd like to suggest (if everyone is in agreement) that we as a guild don't grab and run like drugged up LA looters but that we rather decide to sell stuff in AH or some other idea which could maximize our bucks so that we kit that bank out properly with tabs and have some decent funds left over that can help fellow guildies with some costly leveling requirement.
But this can be discussed properly at a later stage.

    4. The new name, oh this is going to be interesting Lets give this some proper thought ladies, RP servers and all

Man I love the idea of this. The fresh start, and quite appropriately during spring. So much potential. Once again well done

Brilliant idea Blinks , like I said in the other thread I will back you and you have my support.

I've been thinking , I thought of this, purely in the idea of saving moneys can we not just move the GB over the the Ire infernus and we move over there ? I don't know what the officers from Ire thinks , but this will solve a bunch of problems and we won't need to sell everything to stock up 2 guilds.
we can make Ire our unofficial WrG guild ?

I did some reading and it looks like the only way we will be able to change the guild name is by reporting it as a "bad" name and Bliz will force us to change it

Maybe that's not a bad idea

So we are splitting because of ego`s. Fantastic. Noooot.

Yesterday was the first time for several hours I was the only person in WrG online. *breaks into an Annie musical* Its a hard life life, oh life, its a hard life oh life. Just me and you!*

I dont care, if people wanna throw their toys out the cot thats fine, even if it is costing WrG.

I will remind you a lot of WrGs quit the game and donated all their stuff to the bank (afaik), Im not sure they will be happy with their stuff sponsoring a new guild that has nothing to do with WrG.

I'm happy with it. That's what the guild bank is for - helping okes. The second you put it in the GB you write it off - otherwise aH it.

Eyeball - as for the new guild name, incase there's no furnace smelting/merge - We could always revisit the previous guild-name thread. *cough* Karazhan Chess club *cough*

Okay, then I dont understand the need to split the bank....let those moving away from the heart and soul ... take their stuff. Theyre still online and know whats theirs.

How about the Guild name "Carpe Carpum"?

For those of you who dont know latin, that means.. Seize the fish!

That is entirely up to the WoW players.

Again, that's up to the wow players. Remember, like I said in the announcement, just because a council member may have a leadership position in an in-game guild, does not mean it has anything to do with the clan. Although that may be difficult for people to separate.

That depends on how the leadership of Ire Infernus feels. As far as I know, this hasn't been discussed with them yet. It's entirely up to what you guys decide, and also what Ire Infernus want.

Yeah...uh.. no. That will most likely take ages, and Blizzard will stick warnings onto accounts.

It's either that, or everything is destroyed. You're talking around 11k gold, and LOADS of expensive items.

The guild will already be taking a hit for the loss of the guild tabs. Those things are EXPENSIVE.

FWIW, IF anything was donated (I don't know), then it is no longer the donaters responsibility as to what happens to their stuff.

I just dont understand how half of roughly 5 years of WrG work goes to a guild that from my perspective split away from WrG. I dont mind a massive amount, like 10k gold or something going to them, I just dont understand why all the stuff the geeks lived and died for ... is going to another guild.

The gold other than buying tabs, is pretty useless, its the items that help the average guildie.. I know theyve helped me a lot! The option of destroying the items is silly and I hope no one takes that comment seriously. So basically we are going to have two empty guild banks with loads of gold but nothing anyone can use in them. Fantastic poo.

Im sure those guildies that quit when they donated stuff thought their stuff would be used by WrGs.. not splinter groups.

Saying all that.. I promised myself not to invest emotion in this game ... so I am not going to. This feels like a freeken divorce and I couldnt be bothered other than to let my opinion known.

Make lots of gold no one can use except to buy tabs, I dont care... destroy it all, sell it all .. whatever.

I have friends online and thats what matters to me.
