    Default Weird GW loading problem

So on Saturday evening i decided to load GW for it run its newest file updates, a new EXE component was apparently loaded as Zone Alarm notified me of a new executable trying to access the internet. Permission granted.

Now today i try to load GW and all i get is a green/grey screen with no items or menu to display. I tried to google the error but didnt get too much luck.

From the GW.EXE switches i have seen i will attempt the -repair after i am done with -image ( Downloads and Decompresses all the compressed files in the gw.dat file. This will improve load time in new area's and get you up to date. )

Anybody else had issues with GW lately?

EDIT : The -image parameter didnt sort the problem out and all i can do is the -repair, which asks for the CD1 of the game. Sigh, so i suppose after this i will have to add ALL the game updates once again once i reconnect. Bummer.

I was playing all weekend and didnt notice any significant big updates. Also not observing any of the errors you described sorry, maybe something else on your pc causing a "conflict"?

I dunno if its a coincidence but on the logon screen to the GW client it has a notice about network maintenance on one of its servers 3/6/06 (Saturday) at 10 - 13h00 GMT. "Preforming Routine Maintenance"

i did read that notice, maybe my problem was that while at the GW logon screen there was data being downloaded i closed the game down. i bet i got something corrupted.

oh well, perhaps a re-install of both Prophecies and Factions will sort this out.

Note to self: Don't let useless close your GW while it's updating in case he stuffs it up.

I close mine all the time,
But i do make a backup of the GW.DAT file once a week, setup a ascript that just coppy's it to a diff folder over writing the old copy
