Fixing the "Updating Stats" issue

As most of you know by now (I moan about it every time I log in), my BC2 would take a few tries to log in, and would normally timeout at least once (with a corresponding wait of about 3 minutes each try) while I watched a little circle going round and round saying "Updating Stats"

From here I found that opening a few ports on my router made a huge difference ! I can now log in, and actually be in the game within a minute or so, not 10 mins like previously.

I have a DLink 504T, so to do the same thing on your router might be slightly different - I set up the router as follows:

I have no problems with updating my stats. Mine is an SMC ADSL2+ router.

I never had this kind of problems either with my Linksys or my new Netgear.

Weirdly enough I had the updating stats issue when I was using pppoe from my pc and with my linksys WRT54G with dd-wrt on it. My new DGN2000 Netgear doesnt do it at all.

That wouldn't make sense because then you wouldn't rank up while you play...
