    Default The Steam ID

The format of the Steam ID in your profile page is very finicky.

It wants one of the following formats:
    1. Actual ID: STEAM_0:X:XXXX
    2. Profile Page: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/7656119XXXXXXXXXX
    3. Community ID: 7656119XXXXXXXXXX
    4. Nicknamed Profile Page: http://steamcommunity.com/id/XXXXXX

The easiest way is to open steam, switch to your community page, and grab the URL:
    steamscrn.jpg

    In my case: http://steamcommunity.com/id/thisgeek/home

Remove the /home, and paste the remaining into the field. When you save your profile, it will work out your steam community ID for you. You'll see the field will change to a string of numbers, as in format 3 above.

Alternatively, to find your actual steam id:

Locate your steam directory on your hard drive, usually C:\Program Files\Steam -- find steam.log file and open it with notepad. Look for lines such as: Found existing connection 9,216.228.115.67:27030 for 0:0:8888. The last few numbers is your steam id, ie: 0:0:8888.

So you then prefix it with STEAM_ to get STEAM_0:0:8888 and use that in your profile.

Don't know why this needs to be so complicated.. but anyway

    Thanks TeeGee!
It is not the responsibility of a defender to leave the objective unguarded just so his opponent sucks less.
